Kozee Infinity x1, General and Specific Questions
Thank you very much for your reply. I don't think i could handle roll off in the treble department so its likely that after the next couple paycheques come in I will place an order for the executive model. I recall from one of the reviews that it sounds somewhere between the mc5 and hf5...- cFran

Kozee Infinity x1, General and Specific Questions
Hey Everyone, For the last few months, I've been needing to get some better portable headphones/IEM's to upgrade from my klipsch s4's. I had originally bought the s4's before I had any inkling of what I actually sought in a headphone, I just knew that they had some good reviews and were...- cFran

Beyerdyanmic DT-770 32Ohm
There is the 80 ohm version, and a cmoy/the e11 could definitely drive that. e11 is quite powerful from what i've heard, so they could likely do the 250 ohm version as well. The 80 ohm version is considered to be a bass monster as well, which could be a bonus for you.- cFran

Just a question
Forums > Equipment Forums > Sound Science Within Sound Science are many a thread about various topics, and within many of those, there are links to external sources for additional learning. Depending on how in depth you'd like to learn, however, you may find that the knowledge many head-fiers...- cFran

Need portable amp with Sennheiser HD650. Need Advice
I'm not opposed to the idea of open phones as portables, so long as you know that your best bet will be to find a quiet spot in a field/park to listen. If you plan on walking around with them in a busy area, or in transit, consider finding another closed can, as the Mal and Fabio suggested.- cFran

Getting "called-out" for not wearing the Beats
I vote we keep this thread a little more light hearted and filled with joy, happiness and droll experiences of when people, without knowing, assumed your headphones were inferior to Beats. I believe that was the intent of this thread but idk, maybe I'm just too happy/optimistic all the time.- cFran

Do 320kbps mp3 files really sound better? Take the test!
For mp3ornot.com i found myself getting tired after hearing each clip twice. I figure 15/20 (woulda been 15/18 if i stopped...) is enough to justify using ALAC over a lossier compression (ya ya, i know this test wasnt about lossless vs. 320, but im willing to use my harddrive for that last 1%...- cFran

Does iTunes sound worse than Foobar2000 and VLC player?
Where would the differences between the players originate? Each of these players sends the exact same information (presuming that you are being consistent with either lossless or lossy) to your DAC or headphone out. Your only difference will be UI. If you are hearing differences, its possible...- cFran

I currently use Bose QuietComfort Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones.
Asus to my knowledge does good with soundcards. they make the xonar essence i think, so you should be good and therefore would likely not need a D/A converter. Lossless formats are just a selection when ripping from CD's. Media player doesn't really matter, its just the means by which your...- cFran

I currently use Bose QuietComfort Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones.
If you are running your audio from a computer, lots of people like to either upgrade their soundcard, or buy an external D/A converter. A D/A converter is what changes your digital music on your computer, to an electrical signal. Most computers have one built in, but external ones can do it...- cFran

I currently use Bose QuietComfort Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones.
I can't go m50 specific, but in general what people tend to like about headphones around these here parts are (relative) neutrality and clarity. Neutrality, just to fill in a little bit in case you didn't know, seeing as how you're new to the community, is about having none of the frequencies...- cFran

MusicStreamer+ is a WOW
So this is my first DAC, so to be fair, I have nothing to compare it to except for the sound from the headphone out of my basic macbook's headphone out, but my first impressions are that it is a HUGE improvement to what I had before. My computer setup (and only setup as it is right now)...- cFran

Clueless about what to get
good looks=good sound quality? Dear lord and I almost bought grados! Edit: whoops, didnt read that sound quality was in addition to good looks. But would you not buy a headphone if it sounded like a dream, but leaved a lot to be desired in the aesthetic appeal?- cFran

Sennheiser HD 428 or HD 280 Pro?
I only have experience with the 428's, not the 280's, but I've used them as my main headphone for portable use for as long as i've been interested in better sound quality. In terms of sound quality, until I experienced some higher end headphones in a much higher price bracket, I...- cFran
