Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)
Hey all, Just a quick question. So my SE5 cable has died on me, and I need to get some new cables. Was wondering if there are any suggestions for something "cost effective" and ergonomic? I did a quick search around and I think there was mention of Toxic and Helix cables but that's...- Bucket

Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)
Quote: I got mine late last year... but my friend who was re-directing the parcels for me was away so it took me a while to get the SE5s to look at, resulting in the process dragging a bit. I sent both pieces back. I think Grzegorz remade only the right one though. I didn't send...- Bucket

Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)
Quote: Sounds similar to the issue I had. Although, I had the problem right from the start (one said sounded louder than the other and felt like sound was coming from the left all the time). I ended up sending the SE5 back to get it looked at. Got it back a few weeks ago and now...- Bucket

Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)
Quote: What case is everyone using? I'm just using the Otter Box that came with the SE5 but it's rather bulky. Was wondering what good alternatives there are...- Bucket

Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)
Quote: Thanks Mimouille. I'm in no hurry so definitely interested in what your opinion on it is. I'll check out the Beat Audio Cronus in the mean time. Quote: Thanks Joe. Will look forward to it when you do have time. I was just tempted by that Whiplash cable as I have a...- Bucket

Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)
Quote: Just wanted to dig up this thread and report back. I just got my SE 5-Way back and absolutely no more issues! Thanks Grzegorz! It's a breath of fresh air after using a broken pair of em3pros. Really spacious and detailed though my S9 probably doesn't do it justice. But...- Bucket

Acoustic Research Mysterious New Audiophile DAP
If it has SQ comparible to the DX100, and physical buttons, it might be worth considering given its much thinner. But the battery life and small memory/storage is a bit of a bummer...- Bucket

iMOD vs Cowon J3
Quote: Scuttle, are you saying then, that provided you have a decent AMP, you can use EQ to handle the rest? I'd be the first to admit I know absolutely nothing about EQ but interested to read up / learn more about it. Do you or anyone have any suggested reading I could do? (I...- Bucket

DAP that leans towards a "warm" sound?
Quote: Do you know how the iMod (& I think you can put Rockbox on it from memory?) would compare with the J3 in terms of SQ? Think I saw another thread on the J3 vs iMod and people felt that the J3 was better overall? I read up on the iMod a bit and it seems people think there...- Bucket

DAP that leans towards a "warm" sound?
Quote: Yeah, I was liking the idea of a hifiman but the size is the same as the dx100 so that kind of defeats the purpose for me. I've been reading about the new Hisound N1 and N3 players. Anyone know how do those compare to the rocoo P and Sony (& Cowon) players? Quote...- Bucket

DAP that leans towards a "warm" sound?
Odderen - From what I've read, Hisound seems to have more of a neutral sound? Never read up on the AMP3 though. Thanks, I'll have a look at that. Loquah - Yeah, I did have a Cowon S9 in my inventory before and did quite liked it. Was just curious if there was something "better" out there...- Bucket
