As noted above, amp power is crucial for the HE-560. I'm running mine from the balanced output of a Monolith by Alex Cavalli Liquid Platinum hybrid (tube/SS) amp, which into 45 ohms puts out about 5 watts. The sound is exquisite. (Someday I'll make any adapter to try to drive desktop speakers...

For sale is a Hart Audio headphone cable for Dan Clark Audio (MrSpeakers) headphones. Cable is 15ft long with 1/4" TRS plug on amp end, and DCA plugs on headphone end. Your screwdriver might be able to get more grip on the screw head using some Solder-It - ScrewGrab Friction Gel.

Feedback by 'Bostonears' on listing 'SOLD Joseph Grado Hp-2i Hp1000'

Great transaction with Chefguru. He promptly answered my questions about his rare headphones, packed them well, and followed up to make sure they arrived safely. Highly recommended seller.

    CEntrance DACmini DAC/Amplifier Official Thread

The mod for variable output was done at the factory (for which IIRC, they charged an extra $100). Not sure exactly what it involved, but it's definitely not as simple as opening up the unit and changing a jumper.

    Grado HP1000 "The legendary Grado"

Thanks. Personally, I have only owned the HP2. Maybe the HP1's polarity switches made sense for professional sound engineers when trying to troubleshoot problems, but in all the years I've been listening to music as a consumer, I can't think of a single instance when I would have used them...

    Grado HP1000 "The legendary Grado"

A basic question for all the HP1000 aficionados here: Was the entire production run of HP1 units produced before any HP2 units, or was there an overlap period during which Grado was building both the HP1 and HP2 at the same time?

Which are some of the heaviest headphones ever forged in the pits of hell?

You could definitely use those as weights at the gym.

    Sony Acquiring Audeze!

IIRC, other than its gaming headsets, most of Audeze's headphones sells for $800 or more. That's higher than the price of PlayStation consoles. Seems likely to me that Sony Interactive will indeed shift Audeze resources away from the high end audiophile products to make more lower priced mass...
