    Topping NX4

Works like a charm on My Nexus 6P (8.1.0). Very happy with the performance of this AMP/DAC on both my phone and MacBook.

    Topping NX4

The SMSL sApII Pro is a more powerful amplifier. Nevertheless the NX4 DSD is more then powerful enough to drive the Senns. For most recordings the volume is at 40-50% with low gain set. Recordings with a high dynamic range (e.g.: classical) around 60% or so. This with both the player and...

    Topping NX4

    My thoughts on the NX4 DSD: Use: - macOS High Sierra -> Tidal HiFi -> Fiio EX1 2nd gen (16 Ohm) / VSONIC GR07 Bass Edition (50 Ohm) / Sennheiser HD 6XX (300 Ohm) - Nexus 6P (Android 8.1.0) -> Tidal HiFi -> Fiio EX1 2nd gen (16 Ohm) / VSONIC GR07 Bass Edition (50 Ohm) / Sennheiser HD 6XX (300...

Review by 'BorisH' on item 'SMSL sApII Pro'

I use the S.M.S.L. sApII Pro to drive 300Ohm Sennheiser HD600s and it performs really well. It delivers plenty of clean, flat power to drive my headphones with authority, just what a headphone amplifier should do in my opinion. There is not much information around but I would say the amp is...

The PCM filter Fast/Slow roll-off option is a nice addition to the D version. It alters the sound in the high frequency spectrum and you can choose which one suits you best. Also the regular version can get quite hot and although mine still works perfect I do wonder if this will influence...

    HIFIME 9018D USB DAC

I leave it at slow as well to tame the upper highs and quite like this function. How do you like the 9018D? I thinks it's really nice for the price!

    HIFIME 9018D USB DAC

It works during boot. The first couple of seconds while you plug in the device the functions of the volume knobs are different. The aural differences are very subtle between fast and slow roll off.

Hello Volly, on Mac OS X the DAC works without any drivers and is plug-and-play. I do not use it with Windows but I saw HiFime list drivers for the D at the bottom of the product description. If would be nice to hear what you think of the 9018D/HD600 combo!  Don't know what the maximum input...

    HIFIME 9018D USB DAC

Hello Volly, The D has some power but I would still recommend getting an external amp to drive high impedance headphones to their full potential. Please see my review for more info: http://www.head-fi.org/products/hifime-9018d-asynchronous-high-resolution-usb-dac/reviews/12903

No, I do not find the sound fatiguing and am rather sensitive to treble. That being said I guess it is also dependent on the implementation.

Review by 'BorisH' on item 'HiFime 9018D Asynchronous High resolution USB DAC'

Overview At a retail price of $119 the 9018D has a lot going for it. The high resolution Sabre ES9018 chip coupled with an asynchronous USB receiver provides a crystal-clear sound and is a significant upgrade compared to the sound card of my MacBook Pro. As an owner of the regular 9018 the most...

HiFime 9018D Asynchronous High resolution USB DAC

Hifime 9018D dac is similar to the smaller 9018 but has a higher max output signal, 255 steps volume control, a display showing sample rate and volume level and a switch to select between USB Full speed (audio Class 1.0) and USB High speed (audio class 2.0). Features: - Digital MCU controlled...

    HIFIME 9018D USB DAC

Right! If you cannot play DSD files but hear noise instead just set the system volume to max and tune your volume on the FiiO E12A. I just got the 9018D and it is really nice with its alu casing, also doesn't get as hot as the 9018. Sound quality seems to be identical. I'll post a review in the...
