BTR3K comes with a Type C to Type A USB cable, no adapter needed. BTR3K has a great synergy with Pro 82 v2, which is a rare thing to find - KA13 probably won't sound as good with Pro 82 v2. KA13 also doesn't support Bluetooth. Audio-GD NFB-11.28 is hard to beat... I have NFB-11.18, it sounds...- BenF

Yes, i use BTR3K over USB 3.0 on my laptop, works great. Don't forget you can use it over Bluetooth as well - so USB won't matter at all. K5 Pro ESS doesn't consume power over USB at all, has a dedicated power input. Not sure about KA13 - depends on your specific desktop. For a USB-A port on...- BenF

KA11 will drive any headphone with normal (>100dB) sensitivity, as long as it doesn't have high impedance (over 64Ohm). If you insist on planar headphones like Hifiman HE5XX or Takstar HF580, you'll need more power. The cheapest option is FIIO KA13 (on sale for 68$...- BenF

Absolutely not. The spec is completely fake: There is no chance it can drive 3.8 watts into 600 Ohm  They don't even know difference between "voltage" and "wattage".- BenF

Try connecting the dongle to one of the amplifiers I listed. Set Windows and application volume to 100% - this will make the dongle work in DAC mode. Control the volume on the amplifier.- BenF

No sound card will handle such headphone. You need watts, not volts. Every DAC can put out 2 volts RMS (it's the standard), even without an amplifier.- BenF

SMSL SH-6 at 187$ and SMSL SH-8S at 230$ will both drive 99.9% of headphones on the market: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004037125738.html https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006669959139.html- BenF

Better - maybe Good - no I would look into anything with at least 500mW into 32Ohm.- BenF

Absolutely not, it will sound bad. HD5XX has very low sensitivity - 93.5dB, so you need a proper amp, regardless of the low impedance. The lower the impedance, the more current will flow, and small amps are not a great source of current. Driving voltage is much easier than driving current.- BenF

Earbuds Round-Up
I burned X3 for ~250 hours and listened just now for a few minutes. Initial impression - X3 is a great improvement over X6, and sounds fairly close to LBBS. I wouldn't be surprised if it's simply a renamed LBBS (with a horrible cable), to justify increasing the price - 90$ vs 48$.- BenF
