Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)
I read the review and got the RCA 5U4G smooth plate. The sound is very well balanced but it sounds veiled compared to Genelex GZ34. So I'm wondering if there's any tube out there that has the RCA sound but with more transparency and resolution.- babyoh

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)
Is there any vintage 5U4G / 5Z3 that can rival the transparency and resolution of new production Genelex GZ34? The "see through" soundstage is highly addictive.- babyoh

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)
What should I expect switching from 5U4G to 5Z3 in general? Is there a specific 5Z3 family sound compared to 5U4G?- babyoh

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)
My 300B amp uses 5Z3P rectifier stock. I'm rolling 5U4G right now without issue. Should I assume the older 4 pin 5Z3 will also work too as long as I use the necessary 4 pin to octal socket adapter? Both 5U4G and 5Z3 have identical max operation numbers. Thanks.- babyoh

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)
Is there any reason to avoid weaker testing vintage rectifier tube on fleabay if you can have it for a song? Can a barely "good" testing 5U4G do any damage provided it has no short, let's say seller says minimum is 40 and the tube tested 47 / 48?- babyoh

Sennheiser HE-60 ''The Legendary Baby"
Are you using the HEV-70 amp? Probably one of the aging drivers need more time to fully charge up since you haven't used them for a long time. I wouldn't sweat about it if they sound good after warming up. It could also be dust. Try very very gently vacuuming them to see if it helps.- babyoh

Same here speaker and vinyl setup for me these days. Is there any issue with K1000 sitting unused for too long? I leave mine in the wood box when I'm done with it.- babyoh

Has the K1000 market cooled off? Low $1k-ish seems to be the norm these days for most K1000s.- babyoh

I'm asking because I saw this old FS thread with what looks like OEM replacement pads. https://www.head-fi.org/classifieds/fs-akg-k1000-relic-from-the-past.25817/- babyoh

Sennheiser HE-60 ''The Legendary Baby"
I'm looking to pair HE-60 with an aftermarket amp and checking out this e-stat amp spreadsheet done by another HFer. What are the maximum "safe" RMS and peak voltage numbers I need to keep under so I won't be able to overdrive and damage my HE-60 by accident...- babyoh
