i was considering buying the mt8 since it has a detachable cable and was the succesor of ther over "hyped" mt220, but for what i've read it seems better to stay away from them, sadly i need a replacement for my shure srh440 (one of the cables at the hinges is failing so one of my ears is left...

i havent hear the msr7 or the akg k612 but the biggest difference is that one doesn't requiere amp and has a mic with extra cords while the other is not for a mobile use. btw how would you compare the k550 against the k612?.

The problem with geek audio is that the pulse sometimes blow your drivers off and the nighthawk they do lack detail(not so much as people tend to claim but they are planar) sometimes considering other headphones (maybe they are too dark?) but you being old (everyone of uf is going to get older)...

not to be a pain in the ass, but you're in your 80's and to add more fuel you mention suchs gear that came from geek audio (considering the pulse is really giving heavy pulse to some headphones). but i did remark the nighthawks because we don't know much about them.. only that they lack detail...

I don't get it why people keep suggesting dark sounding headphones for classical music (suchs as planars and the likes of the hd 650 and fidelio) when is clearly a genre that has the most on the upper range that the hd 800 can reproduce with more accuracy than most headphones with a larger...

That's depend, if you are mostly looking it for sound quality beyer all the way.. is not even comparable but Bose know how to do their noise canceling technology work soo if you are for a portable headphone with em   nothing special sound  wich pack the best noise canceling then bose is your choise
