PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
Years later, still use my Pono daily - paired with ie800's and a clear, well mastered source; they're sublime - Kudos to Charles Hansen & his team for this wonderful player- Audiophilliac

The Pono Player Impressions Thread
I've had my Pono from the original Kickstarter (My best backing ever) and the yellow one is very prone to picking up pen marks, and because of the rubberized coating it absorbs the ink, which means you can't rub it off, though it does fade over time. Anyway, you're right, it's built solidly and...- Audiophilliac

The Pono Player Impressions Thread
None that I know of, I have had some talented leather workers in Hong Kong try to make me a case, (originally using paper templates) but they threw in the towel after many aborted attempts and wasted material :( I love the Pono sound however and even though my Yellow Pono has ink marks all...- Audiophilliac

I'm on my second Pono; I lost the first in a cab - don't ask, but fortunately I was sensible enough to join the kickstarter and get 2 Pono's I have had a few hi res music players, (only been in the game for the last 3 years or so) Fiio X-1, Fiio X5, a Shozy Alien, and my beloved Colorfly C3 ...- Audiophilliac

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
Personally(and admittedly just from my own perceptions and aging ears) when I first got my Pono it did sound slightly muddy, but as time went by it really opened up for me and smoothed out, the sound became clearer and the soundstage improved becoming wider. This took around 100 hours or so...- Audiophilliac

I Lost my Pono (don't ask) so if anyone wants to sell me theirs I'm absolutely in the market. I loved the Pono after using a Fiio X5 & X1 and a Shozy Alien and my beloved Colorfly C3 (The iPod sound is somewhere around a hobos crotch rot to me) the Pono initially sounded a bit muddy but after...- Audiophilliac

I'm also noting a fairly rapid power drain - I can probably get 4 or at most 5 hours playtime, or is this standard (The litrature said 8 hours)- Audiophilliac

Colorfly C3 Discussion Thread
I have found the Shozy to sound microscopically better than the C3, but the interface is so bad that I would seriously advise against using it - EVER Compared to the Fiio X1, X5 and now my current Pride and Joy - The Pono Player - It blows donkey - The Pono sounds streets better than the Shozy- Audiophilliac

Colorfly C3 Discussion Thread
That is (maybe) because when you drag your songs across you have probably inadvertently grabbed No. 2 first (I've done the same sort of thing in the past) - The Colorfly C3 specifically plays tracks in the order in which they have been transferred - To correct this - grab all your tracks in the...- Audiophilliac

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
I received my (Black) Ponoplayer yesterday - I tried it out with my Sennheiser IE80's and it sounded incredibly bad - Massively too bass heavy; (Though that might be due to my on earphone bass adjustment - haven't had a chance to try it out with Bass turned down yet) so I moved over to my...- Audiophilliac

Colorfly C3 Discussion Thread
I just bought an Alien - don't do it - the interface blows - I'm pretty patient with tech, (Love the C3 with all its limitations) but this is terrible; pressing the on/of pause/ play button is too easy (I don't dare put it in my pocket) and pressing the volume rocker will inadvertently turn the...- Audiophilliac

1) 32GB - I know, bummer 2) No idea 3) The sound is simply stunning I use the rock preset but the sound us naturally very neutral: everything sounds great , but don't expect heavy bass Also it can't drive oem's without an amplifier-I use the c&c bh2 I have the Fiio x5 & x1 but I still prefer the C3.- Audiophilliac

Mine should arrive by Friday - ordered a couple of days ago (also from TaoBao) - I'm happily filling a 128GB SD card in anticipation :) - It had better not suck - though I have heard the X1 has a godawful propensity to sound Bassy- Audiophilliac
