For those that have the Serene preamp, how long did you let it burn in before it started sounding good?- AudioMan2013

I have the same issue and am thinking to stay with the same original fuse on the KTE. Im happy with the sound but what made a difference was going to occ interconnects. They made such a large difference that I will never buy just regular interconnects again.- AudioMan2013

Correction, the ifi Purifier 2 does have an optical input. I will try my RME first and if I dont like the results then will try the ifi. It is low cost. I use some of their power noise cancelling products and they work well. Thank you for the explanation for the 10Mhz clocks. I will forget...- AudioMan2013

I was drooling at the Stanford Labs 10Mhz atomic clock standard. So would a reclocker with a 10Mhz input with a reference clock standard not improve jitter? I was considering this as a next year purchase but if you say it wont improve jitter, then I will forget it. Im new to this level of...- AudioMan2013

Thanks for the information. I am not planning on buying a Mutec. The source is my tv with optical toslink out. It sounds better than using the usb out function of the Nvidia Shield Pro. I would like to reclock the toslink with a reclocker using a reference clock. I wish the May had an...- AudioMan2013

Anyone using a Denafrips Gaia, Audio GD DDC, or any other reclocker? I plan on buying the Red when it is available but I wish it had more inputs other than just a USB.- AudioMan2013

The Mutek with an external world clock may be the only solution. Im using the optical in with pll on the May but the USB to me sounds cleaner. I tested it using a windows laptop but I was never happy with a Windows based source. It just sounds off than dedicated hardware. I also have tried...- AudioMan2013

This is a weird question but does anyone know of any hardware that can take an optical toslink spdif as an input, clean up the signal, and output it to USB to connect to the May's USB input?- AudioMan2013

What streamer is recommended for the May? Im looking for ones that have both usb and I2S outputs. The Holo Red has been out of stock for a while.- AudioMan2013

Thanks for your impressions. Im on week 2 of having the May and it still amazes me. It does get warm. I have mine close to other hot equipment such as a large amp and a large receiver in a tv rack so I use a small computer fan on a very low speed for moving some air slowly to keep things...- AudioMan2013

Usually the input impedance on an amp is high. When you connect multiple amps to a single output, the resistances and capacitance add in parallel. Resistance drops and capacitance increases. I think the May output impedance is around 27 ohms on the xlr but you should check the output...- AudioMan2013

I havent tried it on the May but I have a horizontal bi amped system in my bedroom. Ive used a y splitter to power separate 2 amps on other high end dacs. I would recommend dont use these cheap Y adapters but have some made from a custom cable manufacturer such as Moon Audio. They will be...- AudioMan2013

It has about 48hrs on it and I havent notice any difference since yesterday but I will continue to let it burn in. Is there any way I can tell if my May is brand new? The 2 boxes they were packed in werent sealed or anything but the outside box was. I dont have any suspicion on them not...- AudioMan2013

Thank you for your thoughts. I will take your advice and just use my laptop as the source. I was thinking about buying HQPlayer for its upsampling filters for both pcm and dsd but will try Foobar2000 first. Right now Im just using spdif as inputs. Optical toslink from my tv and coax from my...- AudioMan2013
