Trying to repurpose an old Aiwa NSX-S50, hooking it to a PC, advice.
Hello, I have an old Aiwa NSX-S50, the speakers work still pretty well (the volume knob is broken though) and I was wondering what could be a good/inexpensive way of hooking it up with a PC?, the sound system doesnt have USB or any other more modern way of talking to another system, so I was...- Artemix

I was reading this article: https://www.cambridgeaudio.com/blog/test-your-speakers-cambridge-audio-engineer and going through the songs, and this one in particular: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q73Jb8ChjuM sounds like.. crap, cracking, pops, it's like I'm using some 10 bucks...- Artemix

Already have a Sennhiser HD600 + good soundcard, now I need an office friendly version (has to sound at least as good), advice required.
Yeah, I mean, I will use them in the office 99% of the time, so BT ones would be a plus, less cables around. All the reviews I've watched about the PCX 550 are very positive, but I'm still undecided.- Artemix

Then I go back to my original question, what sound source?. My PC at work doesn't have bluetooth, and I doubt my iPhone would be good enough, maybe it is?, I honestly have no idea.- Artemix

Maybe for audiophiles, but those headphones seem to be quite good, judging by this thread here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/813280/sennheiser-pxc-550-wireless-thread-opinions-reviews-feedback-pics-discussions-etc So you are saying everyone there is plain wrong and they have potatoes instead...- Artemix

Of course, if you compare a HD800 with a dedicated professional DAC/AMP, there is no comparison. But I don't care about that, since I only care about getting the best possible quality for something easy to use in an office environment. For what I understand getting your headphones connected...- Artemix

Why do you say "bluetooth headphones" like if they were garbage?. Those Sennheisers seem to be god enough to care about a decent sound source. No one likes elitit pricks :)- Artemix

After researching a bit, I think the Sennheiser PXC 550 are a good fit. Now, what do you think is a good source input?.- Artemix

I dont care that much about cost, I want them to sound as similar as possible to the HD600's I have right now.- Artemix

Oh sorry, for some reason I assumed the HD650 were a closed version of the HD600, my bad. Then scrap those :).- Artemix

Title, mostly. I got the HD600 + Asus Essence STX II, and the headphones sound great, and at work I have really crappy ones plus a generic sound card. So I'm looking for a good alternative I can wear at work, they can't be open headphones I guess. What would sound at least as good as...- Artemix

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Oh yeah I saw sorry. For example in this particular song: https://youtu.be/_EDvabyo620?t=1m29s When both girls start to sing, I hear something weird going on, like a sizzling. I hear that in other songs too. I'm playing it from YT and using a Asus Essence STX II as sound card...- Artemix
