Great news, but still too expensive from a Massdrop buyer perspective... As badly as I want it, I just can't justify the price over 550$ for it, as long as EQ is crappy and no bass-burst option or preset.

I have strong doubts that K712 is anything better then AKG K7XX, different tuning - perhaps , but not better . Look at the specs on innerfidelity. In fact, you might risk more buying K712 on ebay or getting the wrong/bad revision. And you are gonna pay much more.
