Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model
Hi, was wondering. I accidentally press 'play' on the DAP with only this cable attached (see image below) without attaching the cable to an actual headphone. Surprisingly, the DAP is playing music like it thinks that a headphone is still attached. Is this bad for the DAP? Can it cause any sort...- Ahoihoi

Sony MDR-1000X
I charge all my wireless headphone and headset using my phone charger with all sort of volt and amperage. Never had issue. Even computer USB has varying mAh. The USB input to charge should mean that it has its own internal charging circuit. The one time I think that it "could" cause damage is...- Ahoihoi

Sony MDR1-ABT Impressions
There seems to be some truth towhat he says though. I noticed the same characteristics on mine also. Generally when playing low bit rate (eg. 128kbps mp3 or SBC) it sounds mellowed out with more bass oomph. If high bit rate (320kbps+) on APT-X it sounds a bit more bright. But again, I didn't...- Ahoihoi

Sony MDR1-ABT Impressions
If it creaks it is faulty. Got my 1abt for for than 6 months now. It is rather smooth and silent even though I use them reasonably a lot - so these headphones clearly are designed and supposed to be built well enough for it not to creak. My mdr1rbt mk2 got the creaky problem so I know how...- Ahoihoi

Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model
Not sure whether this has been posted here yet. I found this interesting article by the walkman blog interviewing the design team of ZX1. Thought it might be of interest here. http://thewalkmanblog.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/design-interview-with-zx1-designers.html- Ahoihoi

Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model
Yeah I check and updated the firmware when I first turn it on. I disable auto update from the app store. And uninstall any autoupdate. I disable airplane mode just now. It updated itself in the background. (even though i have it disabled) I forgot to mentioned that I always have the battery...- Ahoihoi

Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model
It is nowhere near the official spec. I will try to tweak some more. last try, 50% got me 2 hour. ~50% of that is media server, ~40% device idle. I only kept the screen on for a total of less than 10 minutes. I was playing mix of 320kbps mp3 and 16/44 flac. Headphone is Sony XBA3 Volume...- Ahoihoi

Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model
Hi fellow headfier, Just got the nwz zx1, really enjoying the sound and the drag and drop importing (I am coming from iPod). There are few things that I notice recently though. 1) Shocking battery life! I will play around some more to form a conclusion on this. But as of now in airplane mode...- Ahoihoi

Sony MDR-1RBT Impressions?
I upgraded mdr1rbt mk2 to mdr1abt. It seems to allow more noise from outside. Definitely doesn't block outside noise all that well. But when you increase the volume, this isn't seems to be much of a worry. (Apart from your hearing), but seems the sound signature is alright to listen at higher...- Ahoihoi

Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R
When you say tear, is it the usual pleather peel/crack? (care to show us a photo of it perhaps?) How long did you have your headphone for? I was kind of hoping that SONY uses better quality earpad on their higher end offerings :(- Ahoihoi

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H6 Discussion Thread
Thanks. Luckily the store I bought them had very good return policy. They would probably be okay in replacing with another one probably, but I just don't think it's a good idea. With all these quality issue that these headphone had, I don't like my chances. The ear up they tend to not stitch...- Ahoihoi

I don't know aye. When you said volume. It can't be volume. Since even at the lowest setting it sounds like listening through a small speaker through a hollow but long cylindrical tin can. The bass is boomy, but the high is really really high and piercing. Mid is recessed, and thin/hollow. As I...- Ahoihoi

I had a brief listen of the h8 at the apple store. It sounded similar to the h6, but the bass on it is bonkers. very fun unit. I'd say it is a better buy. At least you won't be increasing the volume because the bass will over power your ear long before the treble does. (as is the case with the...- Ahoihoi
