The Denons do not isolate extremely well or poorly. The person next to you will probably be able to hear some of your music.

This reminds me a lot of your other thread about testing headphones with sine waves and whatnot. It depends on your ears. Everyone hears differently, so it would vary from person to person. I'd go with whichever headphones has the most neutral frequency response after factoring the frequency...

A nice cheap headphone is the Creative Aurvana (the headphone version). It is essentially identical (same OEM model) to the Denon AH-D1001, but the aesthetics are slightly different. Its a lot cheaper than the D1001, last time I checked. Unfortunately, the isolation is lousy. The sound quality...
