yes it can serve as a HP dac. More precisely, it is an all-in-one with both DAC and amp.

I am not sure familiar with CD player. Will it be serving as the dac or digital source? The WA7 can take digital input.

RCA connection I would be using my CD player acting as a transport to play my cds and the dac acting as my main source what type tubes do they take

Hmm I don’t think WA7 takes RCA as digital input. It only accepts usb digital input.

It uses 12AU7 / 5693 tubes.
