Excellent Hagerman Tuba headphone amplifier with extras. It has recently returned from Hagerman Labs, where Jim Hagerman installed a new volume control and gave it a complete checkover. And it is, indeed, functioning perfectly. Beautifully balanced top to bottom, the closest amp I’ve had to neutrality, not soft and overly “tubey” and certainly not hard edged either. Agile, transparent, detailed yet relaxed. Really reveals headphone tonal differences.

Build quality is A+, solid as can be. 5/35 ohm low and high impedance output jacks, serving Grados, Sennheisers, ZMFs, everything I’ve got equally well. Even installing tubes inspires confidence; high quality sockets that don’t move at all, and the headphone jacks are solid as can be.

I’m running it plain and love it, but am including the beautiful optional wood side panels which can be easily installed. Pairs of reissue Mullard and Electro-Harmonic EL84 tubes included, and there are many old stock tube rolling options for those so inclined. Original plug in LPS provides the required 15V.

Also included is a barely used Acopian Linear Power Supply B15G600 all wired up and ready to go with a barrel jack for the Tuba. This US made PS provides a perfect 15.00 volts, with up to 6A available. It sells for $390 new. These Acopians are way overbuilt, and I have used two others for years, 6V for my Mac Mini and 24V for my Atterotech Ethernet/AES to Yggy. The 15V line on this one is shielded and 4 feet long, so the unit can be placed away from the shelf the amp sits on.

Everything will be perfectly packed and protected. Since both the amp and Acopian PS are relatively heavy, I think it’s best to ship them separately for max protection.
