This DAC started as a Big 7, but has essentially been completely rebuilt and upgraded to Golden Gate 2 specifications on April 5, 2022 at the Lampizator factory in Poland. Inputs are: USB, AES/EBU, SPDIF.

At the time of the rebuild, this DAC was updated as follows:

-Brand new Golden Gate chassis/case, new copper top and new face plate. Only the original Big 7 backplate remains.

-The latest/current JL Sound USB board was installed.

-Duelund Copper output capacitors were installed (this is a higher spec cap than even Pacific).

-Entirely new, Golden Gate 2 tube power supply was installed, which is needed to run 242 tubes.

-High/low gain switch installed to allow for more flexibility to run a broader range of DAC power tube/preamp combinations (this is a great feature for running 242 tube types).

-Brand new Lampizator flight case.

If you own an Amber, Baltic or Atlantic (all outstanding, I owned an Atlantic), you really need to hear one of the big tube DHT Lampizators. These are more expensive and sonically superior for a reason... and you get the DHT magic. Selling as I already have a Golden Gate 3 and Pacific 2 for my two audio systems.
