PARTIALLY WORKING UNIT. READ FULL DISCLOSURES BELOW:

Used Dared MP-5, hybrid tube/solid state integrated speaker amplifier with a headphone jack and USB DAC. In excellent physical condition, basically NOS, with integrated speaker amplifier functionality working perfectly. However, headphone jack and USB DAC do not work. Honestly, a beautiful little unit - I hope someone finds a good use for it as a speaker amp or uses it as a nice DIY project.

Includes original pair of Chinese 12AX7B tubes. Also includes:
Pair of SOVTEK (Russian) 12AX7lPS
Pair of JJ Electric (Slovakian) ECC 82.

All items tested recently for this sale.

I am the original owner, purchased in 2006 for ~$400-500. Was actually part of a fun Head-Fi group buy many many years ago.

Less than 10-20 hours of use. Intended for a secondary system that never came together. Sat in temperature controlled environment for 15+ years. I have the full original boxes, manuals, white gloves, etc.

I recently tested this unit for sale and have confirmed:
1. Speaker amp works just fine with line-in RCA inputs.
2. Volume control works as intended.
3. Magic eye works as intended.
4. All tubes work properly as intended.

All in all, system sounds just like I remember it with speakers.

However, noted the following:

1. USB DAC does not work. Computer will recognize connection to a Burr Brown USB DAC, but something, presumably, between the DAC chip and audio output does not work.
2. Switch in the back for USB/Line input does not do anything. Amp seems to always be in Line Input mode.
3. Headphone jack does not work. Plugging a headphone into the jack results in no effect.
4. Light above power switch does not work (despite speaker amp working just fine).

Includes original boxes, power cord, RCA cables, original white glove, cleaning cloth, dusting brush and manuals.
