...tried some setups with the Red. I found the sound with the Red as streamer, either with the Red OS or even with GentooPlayer as Diretta target, underwhelming. However as DDC instead of the DI20HE the Red sounds gorgeous...

Just opposite in my case, but that could be because I used ProJect Streambox S2 Ultra as a streamer (when Red as DDC). Clearly the streamer of the Holo Red was better. Drastic difference. Swapped usb cable between ProJect and Red too see if that was the cause but nope.
