I can't get my HIBY R6 III to play as a Bluetooth receiver.

The pairing process with the phone (Galaxy A52) is ok, but later there is no connection. The connection attempt lasts 1 second and then crashes.

It's very frustrating not having an option to use it as BT receiver, as I needing it often in the underground.

I have another player HIBY R2II, it pairs and connects just fine with the same smartphone, no issues whatsoever

But HIBY R6III doesn’t want to work. It's firmware is the latest 1.40_20240127-1020

What to do, @Joe Bloggs? Is your device connecting?
What Jolivhires said. Also, can you describe the screens on the R6III as the BT connection fails? Or maybe a video?

The first noticeable difference is that now you can change the usb connection mode between otg and device (usb dac) and it works with s22ultra flawlessly. Very convenient!

What hasn't changed is that hiby app is still not able to play bit perfect.😒

come again? The HiBy app is like the last resort to play bit perfect if all else fails, lol. How is it not playing bit perfect for you?

A simple thing to do may be to clear data on the app in settings and start over.

R6III 1.50 changelog
1. added manual USB master / client mode switch;
2. Added option for default Android volume slider;
3. Fixed issue where holding volume button caused stuttering volume slider animation;
4. Enabled volume control while screen off for Bluetooth headphones;
5. Fixed issue where playback at varying sample rates may have caused louder pop sounds at random;
6. Larger power off charging animation.

It was also beta firmware that shouldn't have appeared for you guys unless you opted into the beta stream?

Actually it did help! Thank you @Joe Bloggs!

Edit: ok, except for DSD which is translated to PCM 176.4k 🤔
Do you have earphones connected directly to the player when this happens?

This update is a godsend. I'm very looking forward to this update to become official. The loud pop sound has bothered me for a while
