I had a chance to listen to one at Canjam LA and found it ran both my 007A and Sigma/404 significantly better than the 717. In places where you wre sure that the source was harsh or distorting the BHSE played it perfectly. I just remember this very open, dynamic and colorless (in a good sense) sound.

Also it made the Sigma/Pro sound closer in detail to the 007A.

Alas as my 2 girls are approaching college, I doubt I will be buying one soon.

Those do not look like any EL34s I have ever seen. What are they and did you compare them to a standard EL34 before you made the change?
