100+ Head-Fier
Not sure if this is a problem, or normal expected behavior, but for new users, this may be something to be aware of if you have specific sources.
When using my KA17 in Desktop mode (using POWER IN connector with 5v) then connecting to a source (TempoTec V3). If at any point thereafter, the USB connection from KA17 to source is disrupted , or removed/reinserted without disconnecting the 5v side (POWER IN), the audio is played at much lower level, even though the KA17 still shows "D" mode on the screen.
Only by removing both USB connectors (Source and POWER IN), then re-starting the cycle with POWER IN 5v , then the source, does the volume level come back to expected.
The only reason i`m mentioning this is that if you are using headphones and have a source like mine, and the USB is disrupted, you will be inclined to turn up the volume considerably to compensate. If at some later point you do restart the cycle by repowering POWER IN , then the source, the volume is going to jump quite a bit..
It doesn`t happen on my Iphone14 at all, i can disconnect or disrupt the USB and it is always starts again with the same volume.
On my Samsung S9 android phone, if i disrupt or disconnects, it won`t play at all until i have disconnected both POWER IN and Source USB connections, and start with POWER IN again.
