I bought HD700 cables from Aliexpress and while they work the fit is much less secure than with the stock cables, fwiw.

I bought some cheap 2.5mm TS connectors from AE to make my own cable once upon a time and they were real loose, so much so that they were unusable. Frequent audio cutouts unless I was physically holding the connectors in place in the sockets. So I think it's just a matter of finding a cable manufacturer/maker that uses quality components.

Agree, the best way is probably to identify which the stock connectors are since they fit really good.
