Like to hear your thoughts how the CRBN complements the Stax x9k.

Just got my CRBN back from Audeze, fully refurbished. Sound great.

When people say they sound "dark" or have a "small soundstage" I wonder if they just got a bad pair? Or a real bad amp pairing? Dunno. I would never call these dark:

The Stax HPs are often thr benchmark when comparing estats. So, the Stax symbalence is often perceived as wide and bright, so when compared the CRBN may be perceived as dark and small. In itself, I find the CRBN to be more neutral and distant.

That’s what I’m hearing too. The soundstage on my setup is really expansive and definitely not dark at all.
