Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: Weighty mid-centric tuning
Voluminous sub bass
Easy to power and reach full potential
Well-accessorized
Smaller size for the amount of drivers utilized
True 'all-rounder'; from price to packaging to sound
Cons: While it has good treble extension, it lacks weight in higher frequency range
Mid-bass lacks punch and slam
Long nozzles caused fit issues - a con for me, not necessarily for everyone
Confusing branding/Value vs Deluxe

New Head-Fier
Pros: - compact size, easy to use, includes USB A-B cable with industrial protection, it works!
Cons: - you could talk about price, but then again it's half the price of other Digital-to-Digital Converters with galvanic isolation.
- just a single USB Out port (if you own multiple DACs it might be a problem, otherwise no)

I also own this, was such a nice investment for my Chord Hugo2 portable.

I can even implement a midbass pEQ boost (on windows).....and now I not only get a bass boost.....but a punchy/slammy bass boost!

Nice to hear this! The improvement is huge, especially on my system, it cleans all the noises and the signal goes unaltered into the DAC.

100+ Head-Fier
Pros: Absolutely amazing bass in both quality, quantity, texture
'Audiophile' level technicalities, layering, separation that is not muddled by the bass
Amazing natural mids
Absolutely Fun Tuning yet still a Detail King
VERY revealing (good and bad)
Cons: Size and Comfort
Harder to Drive
Price
TL;DR: Bass Cannon yet still an All-Rounder - with some caveats

Completely agree with the sound analysis and fit issues with universal model. Hence switched to customs and have no fit issues.

I think for the SE (and likely Grand Maestro), the CIEM route really would alleviate and make these complete end game. If I was ever to go with customs, I'm all in with Fatfreq's line up.

Very nice review!.

I have one question.

So TP50 with Slow PC filter is not as analog as M1P or dacportHD as DongleMadness describes? As it is in second place and very close to FC6,M12i and DacPortHD.

In which place would you set the TP50 compared to your all other dongles/dac/amps?
vandung2510
vandung2510
If i were to rank all of the dongle i have used, then:
1/ RU7. Best tonality, crisp yet smooth treble with mindblowing stage and technicalities. But sold it due to UI, the clicky, zappy noise.
2/ TP50. Neutral tonality. Second best technicalities
3/ FC6 and DC04 Pro. Tonality wise, FC6 has its special sauce being warm and analog-ish. But it has too much coloration to me as well as an intimate stage. The bass is a bit too sluggish for my taste. (Guess R2R is not my thing). The DC04 Pro sounds drier in comparison, but better stage.
4/ Hiby FC4.

Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: Easy to use, plug and play music
Actually once set-up, it goes on digitally connected with your computer, once turned on
Enough power for pretty much any headphone
Enough dampening power to add image density and transients which affect image edge detail and stage
Enough dampening power to add bass texture and bass definition over many other Dongles
12 hour use per charge, yet two USB TypeC ports for simultaneous charge and music replay
Sexy (feeling) volume knob that doubles as an on-and-off switch
XBASS to get you a polite yet potent bass boost
POWER MATCH means extra juice when you may need it
While not equal to TOTL desktops with full-size headphones, the hip dac 3 performs about 85% as good, and such diffidences may be unnoticeable while on-the-move in busy locations
IEM resolution is far above average (especially for the $199.00 price) yet a blacker background and finer imaging placement will be found as you travel up the DAP ladder
Cons: None, probably the best product of its kind made today

@ybbobserrot Works perfectly. Connected to my PreSonus Audiobox USB96 and the Smartphone outputs Hi-Res Audio as it should. So it works.

I tested with FiiO Music and Phonograph Plus. Works perfect with both

100+ Head-Fier
Pros: Fit is comfortable and relatively easy
Shell size is on the small-medium size
Fantastic Unboxing experience
Beautifully different design, it’s very distinctive
The included cable and carry case are very well-made
Bass is a step above others in it’s class
Bass texture, impact, and depth are all very satisfying
Mids are clean, clear, and open
Treble has great extension
The sound stage while not the widest, is definitely spacious
Resolution and detail retrieval are befitting of the price bracket
Cons: The reflective finish on the faceplate is incredibly scratch-prone
The nozzle/stem is on the shorter side, which may cause issues with some users
Pentacon connectors, your 2 pin cables are useless with this set!
Tuning is a bit on the safe side
I would like a little more treble zing after 10k (Subjective)
Dynamics are slightly lacking

Clean and impactful midbass
Both male and female vocals shine on this set
Good resolution and imaging
Beautiful translucent resin shell
Great stock cable
Great passive isolation
Cons: Power hungry - this IEM needs proper amplification to shine
Hard to get good seal with stock tips
Lackluster sub bass
MSRP is not competitive in 2024

The MagicOne's single BA driver can be driven to physical clipping. In other words, the MagicOne is not an IEM to listen to at really high volume levels. What instead makes the MagicOne really special as a very relaxing or chill pill IEM is that the MagicOne has a relaxed BA sound for the bass and that the MagicOne adds a very nice ethereal nature to the sound of whatever music which you are listening to. I used to think of the Truthear Hola as a very relaxing "chill pill" IEM. Yet the MagicOne tops the Hola in this regard since the MagicOne is the first IEM which I actually fell asleep to while listening to it.

New Head-Fier
Pros: 1. The graphite colour I got for review is really nice, much better than black and white colour.

2. The ANC is on par with the Sony & Bose

3. They frequently go on sale for around $210-250

4. The overall sound is really good

5. They sound much much much better than the Sony and Bose

6. The monster battery life of 60 hours with ANC on!!

7. The app is very easy to use

8. Gives access to all the controls

9. Very comfortable to wear
Cons: 1. The headphones don't completely fold (although that does improve the reliability for longer usage)

2. The earpads touch my ears (more of a me issue, but still)

3. Soundstage lacking (Although those who like the in your head sound will love these)

Nice review but I would somewhat disagree on your soundstage assessment. For a closed back it seems very wide to me. I listen to some Dolby remixes and it really shines but even with a good stereo recording to m4 does have a decent width to it.

Hello, thanks for the kind words. 🙂 I really appreciate it

Yeah I sort of agree on the soundstage, one thing I forgot to mention is that I dont use much headphones at all. This is like my only 4th headphone personally using it. 😅

So I don't really have a good gauge on what's a good soundstage for closed back headphone. I guess i compared them to similarly priced iems here.

Sorry for the confusion.
