Mine will be glowing as well when I get around to actually finishing it and taking some pics. I've been bad at procrastinating this week and I have too many things to review to do that 😪 (2 ZMF headphones, Trio, DaVinci, dt03, and SplendorII/ZS10 Pro 2 coming any day)

That first lighter purple one would look nice I think. Edit: Actually I just got this ivipQ 530 cable in and it would probably look super nice with the Abyss.

You can keep the cable and just send me the OD200 if you want 😉

Ooo that Penon cable looks nice and chonky! I'm a sucker for thick cables.

Neo 5 is 1 DD 4 BA hybrid not 5 BA. The bass is DD so you might want to update your bass section.

I haven't heard the Explorer yet but I did own the Galileo previously. Just based on the graph and reviews for the Explorer, I can tell you that the Galileo will be much brighter so it will depend on your personal preferences.

I'm flattered to have a 3rd review featured on the Head-fi homepage! This Acoustune set is very nice and features a unique aestetic. It's a bit overpriced in my opinion and Pentaconn connectors make cable swapping more difficult, but it's hard to argue with the tuning performance and included...

Ya Pentaconn connectors are a big issue I had too. Fortunately there are companies now that make cables with swappable connectors like Effect Audio and their Con-X system.

The bass is really nice on these and the vocals shine with warmth and intimacy. For me it was like a more refined Softears Volume with better bass. The build quality is exellent as well. The all metal shells are like tiny little tanks.

Oops sorry my mistake. I misunderstood. Yes I agree trebleheads will want more but also probably less bass too. You ain't lying! Suckers are hard to get on there. Well except the bigger, round stock tips which is what I prefer.

Got an interesting one in the mail today! Haven't had any chance to use it yet but the first thing I noticed is the unit itself is VERY lightweight. Can't wait to pair it with the DaVinci and some others on the way!

I don't hear any off timbre at all. I love the treble. To me it's present and well extended but does well to stay out of the way of the bass and mids which suits me just fine.

@Rockwell75 is it too late to be added to the FatFreq and Monachaa tours?

    Aful Performer Impressions Thread

This is great advice. I will also add that it helps to read someone's review of a set you own and see if how they hear it and how you hear it line up. I'm fairly treble sensitive so a lot of my reviews mention some sibilance that other people might not pick up on.

I'd say the Aful MagicOne or Explorer are a pretty stark contrast to the s12 Pro so either should give you something different.

It seems all of those budget sets made Warren mighty thirsty! 🤣 As someone who is firmly stuck in <$300 iem land, I don't think it's THAT bad. Maybe when I can do more Watercooler tours I will see the light. For now I still enjoy CCA, Simgot, Celest, Aful, KiwiEars, etc. We aren't all blessed...

Haha hard agree! I'm loving the DaVinci and working on my review is hard because I don't want to analyze them I just want to enjoy them.

Yes absolutely although I still have love for other sound signatures too. Before I heard the DaVinci my favorite iem would be the Softears Volume. It's much less bassy, has a more mature tuning, and is slightly more resolving than the DaVinci. I'm excited to try the other things I'll have coming...

I still need to do more testing so I'll try to answer this question in my review. I can say that after listening to the DaVinci then switching to the ZMF Caldera, the DaVinci obviously has a more intimate soundstage but I actually prefer it because of the emotional response I have to the way the...
