Show us your vintage headphones!
I was going to write that but BURNART beat me to the punch. Looks like a CD1000 or CD3000 without the suspension headband and a slightly different cup shape. Do you know what are the drivers in there, out of curiosity?- digitalreferee

Ten and Tracer is so underrated, I wonder what he's up to nowadays I don't think I've seen anything from him in years. A lot of the classic IDM people seem to have just stopped making music for the most part which is bittersweet…- digitalreferee

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
I've owned a pair for a few months now, I got them as my main open-back pair for making music, monitoring and mixing (with the closed-back counterpart being the Sony MDR-Z1000) and I find them to be probably the most precise pair of headphones I own. They aren't the most transparent and neutral...- digitalreferee

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread
Just chiming in here, I'd been looking for a long time for a replacement for some old IEMs of mine that I still use to sleep with (the Zero Audio Carbo Tenore) and wanted something with the same or a similar form factor but a detached cable. The Final E4000 and E5000 seemed to me to be the best...- digitalreferee

Show us your vintage headphones!
Congrats to you both on getting the 580, I actually got a pair very early this year of the Precisions and they are excellent imo, I ended up selling my 58X since I wasn't using them anymore. Sidenote but am I the only one who thinks Sennheiser should go back to trying out different grille...- digitalreferee

Ohh cool, are these official MDR-F1 driver replacements or third party/aftermarket ones? Where did you find them? My pair still works fine but I've been spooked by all the reports of failing drivers to be honest 😅- digitalreferee

Somewhat unrelated but curious where you got that foam ring. Currently on the hunt for some foam to use for a replacement pad… have not had the best luck with it so far.- digitalreferee

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
Extremely fake or at the very least Frankenwatched. Probably a genuine Seiko 5 movement in there cribbed from some other model, but that dial is peak Mumbai special. There are dozens/hundreds/thousands of these on ebay at any given time. If a dial has this Seiko font: Instead of this one: You...- digitalreferee

Kind of sad to see that you had to let them go but pretty cool to see some more info on these as well as measurements, considering how rare they are. Bummed I missed the classified but I didn't have the cash to spare anyways so, hopefully new owner treats them well. From what I see internally...- digitalreferee

The Ear Pads Thread (post questions or say what ear pads worked for you)
So I'm currently really enjoying the MDR-CD2000, I recently got (for more than I paid for the headphones themselves, funnily enough) NOS genuine replacements for their earpads and headbands, which on my pair originally both had issues (the headband was sagging and no longer doing its job and the... -

Sony MDR-CD900ST, why don't these get more love?
Good question, I have not heard a 7506 in years and opinions on how it sounds compared to the CD900ST seem wildly varied and sometimes contradictory, so I have no idea what the consensus is regarding those two. As far as I'm aware, the MX10-B is lower in sub-bass compared to the MX100-Z so it...- digitalreferee

Sony MDR-CD900ST, why don't these get more love?
Nicely done, I've had a hard time locating these. I have a copy of the previous model in the range (the HA-MX10-B) that I'm going to mod with the same Z1000 pads (that are so god damn comfortable), and I can post some comparative testing between that and the CD900ST if people are interested...- digitalreferee

Grado Fan Club!
What would you guys recommend as a good first-buy to get into the Grado club? I have personally heard the SR60 and SR125 before (I believe it was the e version for both) and I enjoyed the both of them. There are a lot of SR60/80/125 available second hand. Are there any revisions to avoid...- digitalreferee

Other brands/models that share the Grado sound?
So I have got the Sony MDR-CD2000 for a couple days now, going from my memory of the couple of Grados I have tried (SR60, SR125), I would say that the CD2000 is perhaps a bit less sparkly, with similar high-end detail nonetheless. Tuning in the higher frequencies is comparable though, in my mind...- digitalreferee

Sony MDR-CD2000 loose headband
Hi all, I recently came in possession of a pair of MDR-CD2000. It works very well safe for one small problem, the headband which I assume to normally be self-adjusting is no longer doing its job properly. (photo for reference) It's quite easy to remove it from the headphones themselves, there...- digitalreferee
