    Auralic Aries g2.1 + Vega g2.1 - thoughts?

Thank you for your impressions. I did end up buying the g2.1 Aries and Vega. I too will be using it wirelessly. I'm glad you've had success with that. I've been busy moving houses and haven't gotten the Auralics out of there boxes. When i do, I'll post comparisons.

    AURALiC owners unite!

I look forward to your impressions! I think I'll be unpacking my goodies this weekend. So I should be able to get some impressions of my own in a few days. I'm going to A/B against my Chord Hugo 2 and 2Go on my two-channel system. I wish I could A/B it with my Wadia CD player. But unfortunately...

    AURALiC owners unite!

I very recently got the Vega g2.1 and the Aries g2.1. Unfortunately, they arrived while I was moving houses, and so I've not even had a chance to set them up yet. When I do, I'll post my impressions. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

    Auralic Aries g2.1 + Vega g2.1 - thoughts?

I'm about to pull the trigger on this? Do any of you have experience with these products, either as a package or separately? They'll replace my ancient Wadia 860 and the Auralics have modern features i need.. It'll feed my 2-channel system and, possibly, my headphones. My sig contains my setup...

    The Stax Thread III

I may be wrong about this (i wish i could afford a T2!). The T2s that good builders are building these days overcome the problems you've note.

    Audeze CRBN Interview, Review, Measurements

Interesting about the efficiency comparison between the CRBN and the 009. Since some here have asked, i would definitely NOT recommend using a stax amp like the srm-d50 or srm-d10. I have both of these (rarely used) and a KGSSHV Carbon to drive my 009S. The stax amps cannot control the bass on...

    The Stax Thread III

Hi! I have a Carbon, but NOT the CC version. I love the Carbon. When i was looking to buy a couple years back, it was suggested that the CC was NOT necessarily an upgrade over the plain CC. So you might want to look into that. If i recollect correctly, the CC adds some "sparkle," which you may...

    The Stax Thread III

This is my experience as well (though I do not have the A-16). EDIT: My experience is that EQing the 009S requires a really good amp/energizer. I have both a Stax SRM-d50 and a KGSSHV Carbon. Though the Stax amp is capable, it is not capable enough to EQ bass on the 9S. The Carbon is way more...

    Popular Classical Music

I've got a confession to make. Whenever I get a new Mozart CD I go straight to the minor-key pieces to listen to first! Here are a couple of lovely performances. 1. Violin and Piano Sonata in e minor (K 304) performed by Joseph Szigeti 2. Piano Concerto in d minor (K 466) performed by Richard Goode

I like Audio Technica! But I've never tried yours. In my opinion, classical music is not particularly demanding on hardware. The things I tend to focus on are: reproduction of voices, speed and "airiness," which to me means a sense of the instruments (or even the strings of an instrument)...

Yippee! Today I found Suzuki's complete secular cantatas on Qobuz for $30, which is half the price at Presto and 7digital. In case you are wondering, it's lossless (CD-quality). Suzuki is my favorite modern interpreter of Bach's vocal works. He reminds me of Karl Richter's spirituality, joy and...

    Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread

I was in the same bought a little over a year ago! Hugo2go was giving me headaches: it would not recognize my SD cards, etc. So I stopped listening until last week. What changed? I got Roon and use it as my transport for the hugo2go. Roon isn't perfect. But it makes life with the hugo2go so much...

After a long absence from headfi, I'm back again! Listening to this wonderful recording for Christopher Herrick playing Bach. Curiously, most of Herrick's Bach music is not available on Tidal nor Qobuz. Glad I bought the CDs (twice)!
