Looking for less than $400 headphones to pair with ZXR soundcard
This Wed. I have a Soundblaster ZXR showing up.
Currently I have the creative Titanium (non HD) and audio-technica ATH A700 headphones. Sometimes I plug my little Fiio E5 into it, does a little but not a lot. I know that is a lackluster set up to most here but when I got the titanium card with A700 headphones, a couple of years ago, I was in bliss over the sound improvement above whatever 30 dollars and a costco card got me.
I am going to Fleetwood Mac in a couple months. It has me listening to music from my childhood. The fact this soundcard is coming has me thinking about my headphones. I'd love for the bass in the song "The Chain" to sound even better.
I am a gamer so please keep this in mind. I also love music. Mostly I am a fan of 60s-80s rock music, From Yes to Metallica.
Would less than 400 get me a noticeable upgrade to the headphones I am in now or do I need to wait a while and save more cash? I am fairly certain I want to stay with closed back.
