There will be Aeolii as far as the eye can see, my friend.
I am seriously considering heading to this from California, What I really want to do is take the California Zephyr there and back. Working on the logistics!!
I'm in! Bevin, it's Charles, the black guy from SoCal CanJam with the goofy grin of sonic delight on my face every time I had a listen of the Verite. I will be flying in from Denver for this, but Chi-Town is always nice, and based on what I heard this past weekend, it'll be worth it.
Count me in!
Wooo! Now the party starts
I am debating if I should bring some gear, and if so, how MUCH of it. I keep all my electronics in a carry-on during flights.
Part of the dilemma is that I am very check-in-baggage-containing-expensive-electronics averse.
How do you guys do it? Get the baggage inspection in front of you, and then ziptie the case before it is carted off on the conveyor belt into the ether?
HeadAmp would be glad to attend or send equipment as the timing allows. Would much rather be there in person though!
Having put lots of expensive audio gear through checked luggage, I recommend only checking electronic components and cables, not headphones (both due to their relative fragility and appeal to thieves). I generally check that gear packed inside boxes within a suitcase, or in the case of a large item like a Blue Hawaii amplifier, check the product box itself. I've never had an issue with anything going missing, even when they have been opened by TSA for inspection. I find that airline baggage handlers tend to beat up equipment boxes less than shipping companies, FWIW. I wouldn't check anything that you either don't have insured (renter's, homeowners, business, umbrella, etc) or aren't prepared to lose, just in case the worst happens.
Having @HeadAmpTeam in the house? Yes please!!! Let us know if you can make the trip. It won’t be cold here yet... I sort of promise.
Your guys Gilmore Lite mk2 is smashing with the ZMF family of cans. It’s on my short list for solid state amps for this exact reason. Nice solid clean neutrality let’s the ZMF’s do thay thang!!
@BooUrns @zach915m I’m going to try get there this year! Here’s hoping work allows the time off
I will personally talk to your boss @BunnyNamedCraig . I will be good cop, bad cop, and paul blart mall cop, but I will do my darndest to make sure you can attend.
This is awesome, as soon as my friends saw this post we decided we're coming again. Can't wait!
I hope you can make it Craig it would be nice to see you again since I missed Dayton because of snow.
Are you going to the meet this week at jds labs?
