like that of the Audeze LCD's in that the images are larger with a more full bodied sense as opposed to the pinpoint imaging of cans like the HEK's

With Verite, we are pushed back (as if we are sitting on pretty optimal row in a nice theater), and front-back stage depth is substantially realistic. Imaging is still clear and articulate but positioned a little distantly (so some may perceive this a little less pinpoint-ish).

However, it doesn't mean Verite has lame image positioning. Rather opposite. Listening to tracks with well recorded spatial cues via Verite, I can effortlessly imagine how sound sources are positioned, moved, and interacted. Totl headphones generally do this well. But Verite is remarkably better in this criterion than anything I mentioned. The only exception is Raal SR1a, which is on par or marginally better.

I've been listening with the Universe leather and suede pads mostly on the Verite since I received them for review. Yesterday I switched to the leather Verite pads, and am really enjoying the change! In my original experimentation I preferred the Universe variations, and I think I still do, but the Verite pads are a bit more linear sounding with a bit more treble energy. Comfort is still excellent, but they are less thick than the Universe pads. Highly recommended as an option for changing things up : )

I’ve gone back and forth between the two, in the end I prefer the Vérité Leathers!

From your impressions you seem to use the universe pads, the thick and angled ones. The Verite pads are the flat ones.

I have the Auteur and the Eikon and Atticus. Getting closer to pulling the trigger on the Verite. Sick sick sick and eventually more sick! Please help me from myself :)

Where can one get a demo of the Verite? Can’t find any local dealers that have them. Not sure I would buy them without a listen.

Bocote Verite would be really cool but I hope it doesn't happen because I can't be tempted into buying another pair lol

My Auteurs are bocote. Youre correct. They look(and sound) fantastic IMO.

I fell in love with this beautiful set of cocobolo Verites at the SoCal Canjam and absolutely had to have them. Just received them yesterday and Zach was even kind enough to give them to me for the CanJam price as well as include the pictured Atmos Silver cable free of charge. Not 100% sure if they're fully burnt in yet or not, but I've been running them from my Atom whenever I'm not listening to them just in case! The chasis had a teeny chip in it when it arrived, but after a tiny drop of enamel paint it's barely noticeable.:L3000:

Been enjoying them with the Universe pads as I love how they thump and rumble with them on! That said I'm having a bit of trouble finding what the appropriate listening level for these is. I know they're supposed to be more efficient than the Auteurs but for some reason I always end up at around the same volume levels. I want to make sure I'm not listening too loud since I always end up listening for very long periods of time lol. I'm finding it's very easy to listen to these loudly too because the vocals seem rather more laid back than the Auteurs.

Will take more pictures soon! Waiting to hear back from Zach regarding brass grille care since the grilles have quite a bit of patina on them and I'd like to get some pictures of them when they're nice and shiny!
