Très elegante! When you can’t afford a new ZMF, you do your own ZMF November!
PS: Ironwood is so beautiful ... amazing to look at. In this pair, the lt. copper/gold color of the hardware just amplifies the wood's inherent beauty.

Just grabbed a set of Camphor Burl VOs in the B stock sale. Complete blind buy - have never tried the VO but am a VC fanboy. Psyched to finally try these!

headfi is a small world.Hi VO lovers,
I am considering substituting my beloved Vincent hybrid-amp for a Cayin HA-3A.
Since I also own an Aeolus and tube rolling options I think it's a good way to go.
Any thoughts on that?
What you can expect from an OTC tube amp like Ha-3A is a better synergy to the Verite / Aeolus 300ohm driver due to the higher output impedance. Meaning the driver can move properly resulting in a more euphonic sound. A solid state 0Ohm output veiles the individual characteristics of each driver due to the high dampening factor.
You probably never heard how VO and Aeolus actually sounds without a synergistic tube amp.
Since HA-3A also has an adjustable output impedance/gain switch its very versatile in powering a wider range of headphones avoiding synergy problems compared to an OTL amp.

I can see why Zach keeps the Verite on offer. The sound is unique to anything else in the line-up

Currently listening to this concert with the Verite + Icon Audio HP8 (driver tube 12aX7 RCA by Mullard). To my ears, Verite is able to reproduce Mutter's violin in a way I haven't heard in other headphone before, sweet and full-bodied, but raw, detailed and fast at the same time.
Congrats to all the new owners!
