So, with the Beryllium PVD driver: is the idea that a typical one-piece headphone membrane is coated with the metal in the middle, turning that portion into a rigid cone, while the rest becomes in effect the rubber surround?

Gosh, the grill on the Verite is just so pretty. I can only imagine what it would look like in brass, similar to the Blackwood Auteurs. Well, 14 posts to go, I've lurked on this site for so long that I might as well add it to my daily routine. @zach915m thanks for the giveaway!
