They removed them yesterday, iirc. The links aren't accessible anymore either. It was put up on Wednesday for visibility, the orders became available at 8:30 AM (CST) on Friday, and then the links were removed on the same day near midnight.

Thanks! Yeah I bought a black & white AC at canjam. So this would be a black & white AO. The wood type is just so amazing to me. Although the amboyna burl was definitely really tempting

Yeah I don't know why Shopify won't let people view the dropdown and prices before the drop goes live, I'll see if there's a way to amend that.

Going back to constructive criticism, I have an idea for addressing the price issue. You could add a link on the b-stock product page to a Google Drive doc (or any other platform) with a menu of the headphones and their prices (it could just include the product number and the price). That way, people can easily decide whether to purchase during the event or just buy one of the in-stock models. I’m almost positive a lot people saw the B-Stock event as a chance to get any of the AOs, for example, at $1,999 when only a few were available at that price.

Again, this is just constructive criticism to make the experience better in the future. I’m super excited to finally get my AO B-Stock 185, which was the last piece of the puzzle (alongside a used ZMF Pendant SE and a used Denafrips Enyo 15th that I managed to get through this awesome community).

While it's unfortunate for you that your purchasing didn't go as you hoped or wished, you have truly hijacked a good part of this thread now, which has definitely eroded sympathy I might have felt for you and turned a genuinely enjoyable thread and event into an exhibition of your bad handling of the whole matter with ZMF...

No one compelled you to pull the trigger on anything you purchased, and the terms of purchase are very clearly stated. If you had taken the time to do a bit more research, you could also have seen my question to @zach915m regarding the nature of "Select Built B-Stock", where he answered clearly and thoroughly what they are and why he classified them in that way. He also made clear that they are built to order, and what the expected wait time to get them would be.

The fact that Zach even explicitly mentioned the chargeback option to you really should have been the end of the story. That is your resolution. Why you continued to bang on publicly is puzzling and unwelcome at this point.

I'm not just "defending" Zach and ZMF; they don't need me for that. It's just that your experience is truly an outlier, and an illustration of "you can't please all of the people all of the time". Zach and his team work their asses off for us, and do the best they can and act with integrity in my experience. And in the experience of most all of us here.

The payoff of all their hard work is bringing to fruition beautiful, one-of-a-kind headphones that we all appreciate and enjoy. Should be pretty simple...

Agreed. Never should have been made public. And I have no doubts Zach did all he could to fix the situation. I've worked with him personally outside of headfi on many custom sets, and have nothing but praise.

I was looking this morning for more info on the ZMF website on the relative hardness of various woods. I thought there used to be a ranked listing, from ironwood to yesterday's butter, but I couldn't find it. Or an easily digestible alternative, in the amount of time I was willing to spend looking. Anybody know where such a thing is? (That doesn't list every species of wood know to mankind.)

check out the wood data base that’s where everyone gets their numbers type in a wood and whole slew of info comes up including janka hardness etc… very good for this stuff !

Yeah I've been sanctified by the real #woodlord himself. Hoping to shoot a mini doc this year as I go to pick out more wood and do some #woodhunter stuff with him.

Anyways it should be a lot of fun and I already have more Black and White Ebony and Amboyna in hand than I ever imagined we would. It's so exciting!
