ZMF November 2024 // Schedule - Announcements and MEGATHREAD!

Dec 4, 2024 at 1:40 PM Post #1,501 of 2,709
One of the things I've been most excited for oddly enough, even after 2 amp and 3 headphone purchases this month...

Half tempted to wait until the custom shop is ready though, would love to have a salire/mega salire with some amboyna burl or padauk elements. Maybe not feasible in terms of cost/best use of the wood though.

Same. African Blackwood for me. If only the select build options had Aeolus ALSO besides the Auteur, I'd be totally down for a Blackwood/Steel Aeolus. @zach915m - these types of fantasies can come true with the custom shop, right?

I thought everyone else also did hold delivery at a site so their wife doesn't see it come in? Lol
Oh … I’ve the local water cooler mates in on the arrivals as “these are on tour” …

The fact that we self sponsor some of the tours we’ll keep on the lay low. :)

Hey I will try to make any and all fantasies possible come true for the custom shop! My dream is making it similar to ordering a custom guitar. Something you feel like you'll never sell because you got exactly what you wanted and personalized it. We shall see!

Also - I want to apologize to many who have sent me emails, I am WAY behind!!!! I will get to them as soon as the Bokeh Open is released this friday.

I just posted some graphs of the BO over on the thread here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/zmf-bokeh-open-back-headphones.974425/page-15#post-18463185

Also - here's some teaser pics. As a note - there will be 125 Charcoal and 125 Ruby sets available at release at the $899.99 USD price, and the tuning kit with two extra sets of pads and the extra mesh will be $120 USD. The open comes by default with the clamshell case!!! DSC07019.jpgDSC07048.jpgDSC07074.jpg

The bloodwood looks absolutely striking! Thats going to be my choice. Is the tuning kit similar to the closed version?

Getting an AC now has cured any itch I had towards getting more headphones (for now!), but that offer is unbelievable! Kudos!

Who wants to predict # of days to sell out all 250 sets?
Or which color option do you think will sell out first?

I’m a bit befuddled matching the names to the color schemes - Nocturne and Cindercrest. Even though I think sales will be brisk to begin with, I don’t think there are quite as many of us obsessive crazies as we think there are. This is our own little echo chamber.

I think there will still be a few charcoal and purple (Nocturne?) left after 2 weeks, but red (Cindercrest?) will be gone. But I definitely wouldn’t bet any money on it.

The stabilized/resin versions of BO are going to look insane with that wood grille. Can't wait to see what the ZMF team comes up with.

This whole thing is stressing me out. I could save 100 bucks by buying one tomorrow, but I'm not really feeling the stock looks. But if I wait for the stabilized versions, the chance of actually buying one are veeery slim.

^I wouldn't say the chances are very slim. If this latest drop has taught me anything it's that a lot of good models are still available days after! Yes, some models that certain people really have their eye on will go immediately, but there will still be good options available for a while after. If you don't fixate on one particular model you have a good chance of getting something.

Keep in mind, a stabilized/resin set will also likely be at least a couple hundred more than stock (without the discount). But if you're not feeling the stock options is it worth the savings? The launch Bokeh closed was really nice, but I thought the second batch with the figured natural limba was even nicer, so who knows what will be offered down the road.
