I often get requests for custom woods, and I can't take requests/have wood sent in as the wood we use has to meet tight specifications as to dryness, seasoning and size requirements.  BUT, when I have a chance to use a different wood than the normal African Blackwood and Cherry used in the "Blackwood" and "Vibro" models I am going to offer limited edition sets in that wood.  I am pleased to announce the first "Limited" sets that I have produced, the ZMF Blackwood LTD Purple Heart and the ZMF x Vibro LTD Red Walnut.  They are available now at:  http://www.zmfheadphones.com/order-the-zmf/limited-edition-blackwood-and-vibro

I only have three sets of the Purple Heart left and four of the red Walnut.  If people have suggestions for wood they'd like to see on a Limited ZMF I'm all ears, but I can't make any promises!  Here's some pics of the Purple Heart "Blackwood" next to the regular "Blackwood."

I'll post any future limited edition sets in this thread.

I was going to get the x Vibro w/ Blackwood tune, but decided to go for the Blackwoods in the end. Saw these LTDs when I went to order and chose the lighter-cupped Purple Hearts. Looking forward to getting them next month when my friend brings them back to Taipei from Cali.

The problem with African Blackwood is that it doesn't stain or dye well because it's so dark.  Since that's what I use it would require completely new finish, so as of now the answer is no unfortunately!  Best way to go if looking for a dye or stain is to get the Blackwood tuning with Cherry as the wood.
