Yeah that's the only downside of those fancy brass/steel etc grille's and rods, they had a bit of weight! The aluminum OTOH - VV light when paired with magnesium!
Never skip neck day boys, and you can get the fancy stuff

463 grams on my kitchen scale.
Wow. That is probably the lightest Caldera I have seen to date (previously it was a 480g redwood). I think lots of folks don't realise that different metal grills and rods alter weight even more than the magnesium/aluminium chassis. From what I have seen so far it seems that most Calderas weigh between 490g-560g. Then you have the super light editions like the one on the picture and the heavy-weight division up to and around 600g with some stabilised models or super hard woods.
That said, weight is not everything. Weight distribution matters a lot more than some people think. ZMF weight distribution with the BBB strap (a must IMO) is excellent. My 565g Caldera (or 550g LCD2C) feel a lot comfier than the 528g Final D8000 or even the 490g Utopia.

mine weighs in at 520g. its comfort is on par with the utopia for me after bending the headband to reduce the clamping pressure and adjusting the detents. whereas the utopia was comfortable from the moment i put it on. ideally both headphones could be lighter tho - ymmv.

My Redheart Caldera Closed w/magnesium are the lightest ZMF I have, coming in at 516g. It is kind of amazing the difference all the other components make. For comparison, I also have a stabilized Caldera Open w/aluminum, and it's the heaviest ZMF I have, coming in at 588g.

463g is crazy light for a ZMF! I bet those barely feel like they're even on your head!

I don't know why mine is so much lighter. I wonder if something is wrong with my scale.

The weird thing is they were just at ZMF a week ago and they did a full QC and measurement of them so I know nothing is different with the transducer.

The Caldera is my favorite headphone to listen orchestral or instrumental pieces at night, is really relaxing before go to sleep.

If I were a doctor I would recipe Calderas instead of a pill for those who can't sleep well.

Wouldn't it be great if health insurance would Cover ZMF headphone expenses.

Caldera on recipe doesn't sound bad

In another thread [?] I recently said: "Susvara is like going to the live performance, while Caldera is like curling up under a comfy blanket and just listening from home."

Caldera/CC makes every badly brickwalled tracks out there sound so enjoyable while Susvara pretty much makes those incredibly sound too fatiguing. Doja Cat sounds so dang musical with Calderas :)
