Yeah. Zach and team did a phenomenal job with them and their service as always was second to none. Bevin was super responsive and patient with me.Stunning! <3
I didn’t even know the metal now has color options. Be interesting to see what the custom shop offers.

I can't wait for the custom shop to open up. I'm looking for a Blackwood Atrium with 14K gold grille and rods.I didn’t even know the metal now has color options. Be interesting to see what the custom shop offers.
I heard a RedHeart set at CanJam and it was my favorite sounding set out of the different woods I tried. Curious what differences you've heard between the RedHeart and the Oak set you had though, if you want to share.Yeah. Just got them back from ZMF.
Full rebuild. Swapped Chassis to Dark Ruby Titanium, buff, shine, treat wood, grille cloth reseated and glued. Full Acoustic inspection and measurement, Mantle Mesh, new sets of pads.
I'm thrilled with them. Running them with the Caldera Suedes and Mantle Mesh. They sound nothing like the Oak that I owned in the beginning of the year.

I wish I had weighed them before they went out - must be light with the aluminum grille's and MAG chassis.

Wish I could give you a detailed breakdown but without having them both in for review at the same time it's tough by memory.I heard a RedHeart set at CanJam and it was my favorite sounding set out of the different woods I tried. The difference in Janka Scale isn't much either with the stock Oak being 1360 compared to Redheart's 1210. So there's very little difference in hardness.
All I can say is their transients are perfect. Normally I love high janka scale woods because of their perceived speed but the trailing end of tones that the Redheart provide is perfection.

Yeah that's the only downside of those fancy brass/steel etc grille's and rods, they had a bit of weight! The aluminum OTOH - VV light when paired with magnesium! That's LIGHT... beauty and function!

hey zach, what are the gun metal grilles and rods made from and are they heavier than the grilles and rods in the black finish that came with my redheart caldera (it has the magnesium chassis)? if i ever wanted to change them from black to gun metal, could that be done?Yeah that's the only downside of those fancy brass/steel etc grille's and rods, they had a bit of weight! That’s a marvelous sister Redheart. It has the Kingwood stripes which I adore but with that beautiful Redheart hue. A natural gift indeed. Congratulations.
And yes Redheart is light. While I have never experienced a hardwood, I’m guessing that in genres where a headphone like Atrium is more advantageous, Redheart also has the edge compared to hard woods. Or am I completely off track here?

The main benefit that I’ve always found with hardwoods higher up the Janka scale is in their decay and perception of speed in the transducer. And yes Redheart is light. This is especially noticeable in something like Aeolus where the driver isn’t the most resolving. In Aeolus if you add the Radial Vented Mesh which highlights the treble a bit more and add a high janka scale wood like African Blackwood the driver sounds a lot more resolute.
After spending more time with Caldera I’m finding that I prefer a lower hardness as the transducer in the Caldera is already ultra resolving.
