ZMF Caldera Closed

I drive my CC and CO currently with the Cayin N30LE DAP and it is sooo good but as we audiophiles are always trying to improve, I will be adding a Cayin mobile headamp the C9ii simply because it implemented the full complement of the enhancements initially meant for the N30LE but rescinded due to limitations of a complete DAP. FYI the Cayin N3ultra uses that output stage also and drives the CO reasonably but struggles with the CC (understandably) 1000150191.jpg
I would try them with the iBasso PB5. An excellent sounding amp using the NuTubes.

I sanded a lot of them a couple weeks ago and they are coming through QC right now. Sorry for the delay, moving spaces took longer than expected but headphones will be flying through now.
I checked again. So, I paid on 1st of July for Caldera Closed, Ash, and on 10th of July I wrote an email, asked for Red Heart instead of the Ash color
So, almost 3 months 😎😎😎
I do really hope, ZMF delivers this week, to Germany

Any of the red heart CC orders being filled yet? I’m still waiting for mine week 4-5 now.

I’ve waited for a bit over ten weeks. I asked from the German dealer if he had any news, and he told me he’s supposed to receive them in about two weeks.

@zach915m @AnyDave Guys I need some help with pads for my CC. I want to get the CCT lamb but I cannot find them on the website. Only top and side perf or full perf options. But from the site below it looks like I want only top perf, correct? I don't see any top perf only options on the site.

I would send an email to support@zmfheadphones.com. They should be able to get you squared away.

The CC pads haven't hit the website yet, so that's the best way to place an order.

Any idea when they will hit the website?

As of today, I don't. Last time I discussed it with Zach, we were waiting on a shipment and we're holding back inventory for CC production. That was a while back, so I'll check status and see where we are at now.

Ok all you folks need to stop buying CCs so I can get my extra sets of pads. :dt880smile:

I would still recommend contacting support. I expect ordering pads won't be an issue.

I just discussed with Zach and it looks like they'll be setup when the ZMF November stuff goes on the site.

Off topic here for the Bokeh Open, will the Caldara perf and ultra perf be the standard pads?

No, like the Bokeh Closed, they will have their own pads.

This might be an oddly specific question but does anyone own both Caldera Closed, Atrium Open and an LCD-X (2021 and later)?
I've been looking for something that can sort of close the "gap" in my collection. (I'm just trying to justify buying another ZMF!). I have a bit of a love/ hate relationship with planars because they can sound a touch metallic in the upper ranges to my ears - does Caldera have this 'property' as well? With a tiny bit of EQ and the LCD-X with its very large drivers can sort of drown out this metallic effect and the result is pretty spectacular with some type of music (EDM & bass heavy stuff especially).

I'm also looking for something that isn't quite dead flat neutral either, or "too bright". I can tolerate a bright sound-signature but if it makes my ears screech when turning up the volume it's a no-go. The only other ZMF closed backs I've tried is the VC and AC, and the VC slightly edged out the AC for my liking at the time because it was a bit more mellow. Am I on the right track with the CC??
