wow Falkin..... just wow

also, you know you can't get a speeding ticket when you're home listening to these beauties... so really this purchase is an investment in risk mitigation
I'll be trading one risk for another. How many "sick" days can I burn staying home listening to music before the boss gets completely pissed off?

:yum:

Couldn't scrape together the $ for new (sorry Zach, but speeding tickets for 82 in a 55 are expensive - my fault). I did manage to snag a gently used pair, and they do sound amazing! I prefer the Eikon pads.

That's also Cocobolo set 001 I think????Kinda cool! Definitely some special wood there.

Wow! Good to know.

I think we both know the guy I got these from. Good guy.

:)

Edit - I really like how they look. I like how they sound even more.

We got our new cases finished couple weeks ago and I finally had the chance to photo them. They are slightly fancier than our first wood case edition. These will ship with the Cocobolo auteurs. Really the biggest addition is the velour interior, they have rounded top corners and are made fully of mahogany.

Also if anyone got a ltd edition set while the cases were out of stock and wants to grab one, send me an email through the website and we will hook you up for a discount price on these.

The site says the Silkwood ship with the standard pelican style case.

Zach let me get 2 of each case (total) for the ltd edition Atticus/Auteur, so I’d imagine it’s possible. The added volume/weight made the shipping quote to Korea a bit pricey though, so you might have a similar experience getting one in Australia

Has anyone used pure silver on their Auteur? any comment between silver and copper?

Zenwave Audio/Neotech 6/9s silver gold. Gold is mixed in at 1%. Quite a bit better than same OCC copper and stock cable. In all respects. Don't know about straight silver. My favourite cable with Auteurs is Mad Scientist's Carbon Fiber. More detail, ambiance and space, and more neutral balance. The Silver gold has the most pleasing lower range punch and weight but gives up about 15 to 20% of the other things I love about the carbon fiber. Copper isn't even in the running in my system now. I find even OCC copper colored, a bit opaque, less musical and even more closed in.

I warn you however these comments from me will possibly fire up a hornet's nest...but so be it. Anyone who has ears let him hear as the saying goes.

I am not saying copper is bad it just isn't up to Silver Gold or Carbon Fiber of these cables. I will pose a conundrum for you however. The Carbon Fiber MadSci does run a POCC copper ground. So the science and metallurgy only matters to the degree that you hear it making a difference.

I will comment no more than that as it seems to create tangents it should not on this site. More than that PM me!
