After a long 3 months of flip-flopping on what wood to get, and an agonizing decision not to go with Cocobolo, my Macassar Ebony Atrium is here!!!

I really couldn't be happier. Such an absolute stunning set that would look right at place in a museum. Zach, Bevin and the ZMF team somehow always seem to outdo themselves.

I'm going to burn these in for about 4-5 days and then to do a comparison with a stock Cherry set. I've tested some softwood/hardwood ZMF's before, but I'm interested to find out what (no matter how small) differences the Atrium has.

Can't wait to see all new Atriums, and more importantly everyone getting to hear them!
They look gorgeous, congrats!

Is this a bison strap?

I'm honestly not sure if it's a different leather than the regular strap, or just dyed. @zach915m

Amazing stuff. Not sure how they gone under my radar for so many years. Fitting with the Atrium thread, they sound amazing on them. The way Atrium renders drums and bass texture is astonishing.

Anesthetize is just 18 minutes of pure ecstasy to my ears.

Crap this is good! Glad I found it on this thread. Gives me Fear Inoculum vibes. The distortion on those guitars is an ecstasy to my ears and the snare drum is delightful.
I used to like Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree when I was younger, been a while since I listened to them.

Stunning!!!

I also got a pair of Macassar Ebony, and love how yours look differently than mine. They each have such an individual and special character. You know that you own something special that is one of a kind. Such joy. And you got a great one! Enjoy :)

Wow, amazing, congrats! You totally need an Ansuz cable from viking weave cables, it would match perfectly!

We made these straps in house from some burgundy mottled dyed bison leather. We are trying to do more leather work and make things interesting. It's fun stuff that we can do on a small scale every once in a while.

I'm experiencing a mild "Bison Envy"...
