ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

My first thought was "the bass change is really quite dramatic!" with the BE2's. Then last night I thought "wow, these are really overly-boomy", which prompted me switching pads back to the original ones (Universe Pef. I think). Tonight I'm going to try the myriad of other pads out just to see how each performs.

Stick with perforated for the Atrium, all of the solid pads take the bass unnaturally high

I have tried the default pads (Uni Lamb Perf) on Atrium and also the Be2 Lamb Perf. I wasn't crazy about the Be2. I really like those on the VO and VC(solid BE2 Lamb). I have the Uni Hybrid Perf on the Atrium right now and I like those the best so far I think. I got those as secondary pads with my VO and didn't like them. Looks like I found where they belong.

Just out of curiosity, when did you place the order and when did you receive it? I have an aged cherry on order as well.
I ordered on day 1, April 1st first thing in the morning when ordering began. I probably had my order in within the first 15 minutes of go live. They arrived yesterday 4/27/22, I paid for next day shipping.

What was your order number? Mine was 7661. I think I was able to order 15-20 minutes a before 10am, when it was scheduled to go live. I made the mistake because I'm on the east coast and I thought it was 10:45

I was 7755. Zach did say in one of the threads the order numbers aren't indicative of the order they'll ship though. I think it depends on the accessories ordered, etc that also affects when they'll ship. I Ordered no accessories and my 2nd pad option was the basic Auteur Perf Lambskin. I toyed with adding a cable but I knew that would push my order out, and I have a few nice cables for my other sets to use.

Glad to hear someone weigh in on the BE2 pads. BE2s are my favorite on the VO's but got the feeling the stock Universe pads were the best on Atrium. I will have to swap even if it means changing pads on two sets of phones. And, though I'm better at it now, it still can be a bit challenging for someone with very little patience (like me).

The BE2's definitely brought out some the higher frequencies for me but my ears need a bit less brightness. Comfort-wise I prefer the lambskin over the suede. I'm liking the Auteur lamb pads the most so far. The slight angle probably helps my damaged ears--too much impact noise in the military.

For what it's worth my 1 Apr order shipped out on 13 Apr, #7791

Thanks, the Bocote wood came out nice on those. It looks light in the photo but at certain angles the Cherry darkens and changes shade.
It has a little bit of the that--what's the fancy word Zach uses? charcuterie? oh, chatoyancy :)
