On that note, transparency doesn't make sense to me at all either, considering every headphone and source has some particular tonality that is with certainty some level different from what the studio engineers heard.
Same, I listen to a lot of 90s brickwalled recordings and I just can’t enjoy it on “transparent” headphones. The Aeolus on the other hand lets me enjoy all of my music, regardless of recording or genre.
Surely if a headphone should only meet the requirement of being perfectly neutral, then the ASR fanatics should only ever own one headphone. That which their god Amir deems most neutral above all others.
Personally I have no time for ASR. It's all about the measurement of equipment and not remotely about enjoying actual real music. The fanatics have forgotten what this hobby is meant to be about.
This food measure perfectly on ingredient proportion and amount of salt. Still I want more salt and more of something. Why?because I like it like that. Unthinkable… lol

I’m partial to Manchurian Ash as well! I got lucky snagging my set of Ash VC’s. My first set of ZMF’s was a Sapele Aeolus, and it is also a beautiful wood. It looks better in person than any pictures can capture.
Okay somehow I cannot find a similar thread for the ZMF Atticus. But I am just wondering if anyone has compared the Aeolus with the Atticus. There are a couple up for grabs on CAM (Canuck Audio Mart) and I am curious to try. One is in the Cocobolo wood.
