From schematics point of view and AK4497 based version, should have been more clear on this, sorry. The big ones (excluding touchscreen) is different and better opamps in LPF, tantalum (as opposed to electrolytic) input caps and lower output resistors (10 vs 22 Ohm). Any other aspects?
The T1 sounds completely different. It is truly an upgrade. Even in stock is sound incredible. One board definitely has its advantages and how the power supply travels! I did a cross-reference search with ADA8397 in the TI cross reference tool and the first thing that showed up was the opa1622 that he ripped the lpf to put in Haha
Fair enough. Again, from the point of view of schematics (Audio path) differences are small and only at the level of components or in some cases values. Layout is different, for sure.
i love the sound of DSD AK4497 but even with a V5I on it (open case) the T1 AK4497 without any upgrade sound much better
I know! I'm listening to it and I did some fantastic upgrade mods to my ak4497eq Dsd Pro and it doesn't sound as great as the T1!!! My mods on my dsd pro make it play better and smoother but the soundstage is way better on the T1. They did a helluva job. I didn't expect it I'm in total shock!
no doubt they are brothers, but all this small changes make the difference. sound wise.(btw i prefer the dsd interface software, hope they will make a better firmware soon)
Compare datasheets. AD45048 was originally pitched as DSL line driver, AD8397 is a rebrand aiming at wider market. Both TI and AD often do it, another notable example is 1688
