Honestly I think Tenores is about as good as comfort gets. You're unlikely to find any IEM that's either as small or as comfortable as the Tenores.
To he honest I would just get another pair.

I'd be most interested in trying the Zirco Pezzo, their shape reminds me of the Final Audio FI-BA-SS.

The Zircon thing reminds me of the old Panasonic HJE90? that had a cubic zirconia coated shell IIRC.

As a basshead and lover of the Carbo Basso's I'd like to see how the new Basso's compare.
Hi there, by any chance (I know it's a longshot) has any of you tried the Airpods Pro ? How is the sound quality compared to the Carbo Mezzo ? I'm very happy with the Mezzos, but I would like to go full wireless and Airpods Pro has everything I want for a wireless in-ear headphones.

More Zirco Pezzo impressions + Modification:
The Zirco Pezzo drivers are fast and delivery great quality output.
Bass is near perfect, tight and fast with zero bloat. Compared to EPH200, these lack a little bit of bass body, but, sound airier and extract more information in mid-range. Detail retrieval is really impressive although the highs are somewhat thin sounding lacking note weight.
Instrument positioning, again I emphasize, is stellar, and everything is well separated in a wide soundstage.
All said, there's no going around the fact that these are bright earphones. They are really bright, and they do induce listening fatigue after a while.
So, to tame this aggressive treble, I present an easy reversible mod that makes these IEMs sound near perfect!
I use Sennheiser IE Pro tips for this mod, which has a crosshair silicon mesh which prevents the foam or anything stuffed within from dropping through the other side.
Senn IE Pro eartips:
1. Senn IE pro silicon tip,
2. Kitchen towel/dish cloth, made of 35% cotton, 35%Viscose 30% Polyester (cut to fit the eartip bore), I used the same dish cloth for my Grados as well!
3. Foam included in stock IE Pro eartips.
Mod 1: Sennheiser medium tips + 3 included foams
Simply shove in 3 of these foam strips in each of the Senn ear tips, and we get a signature like this
This tames the highs considerably and there is great clarity throughout. Note weight is better with slightly more body.
The overall signature is still tilted towards bright, although they hardly sound sibilant anymore.
I wanted these tamed a bit more for longer listening sessions, and here comes our dish cloth mod!
Mod 2: Sennheiser medium tips + dish cloth + 1 included foam
Carefully cut out a small disc from the dish cloth roughly equal to the inner diameter of our Sennheiser ear tip bore.
It is a little tricky, but shove this piece of dish cloth in first, using the 3.5 mm jack, or small pin.
On top of this shove in one of these foam strips. (using only the dish cloth again brings the treble to near Mod1 range).
Here is how the curve looks now:
Now the sound is near neutral, and it does not sound so bright anymore. Note weight and body are amazing, and the clarity and detail retrieval is still incredile!
This is how i'm listening to my Pezzos since the last couple of days, and i couldn't be happier!

With the final mod (Mod+), the Zirco Pezzos sound like Yamaha EPH200s, with greater clarity and detail retrieval. The male vocals could use just a little more body even with

Overall, i must say, if you can do the Mod+ these are an incredible set of earphones regardless of price!

Which one has smoother transient edge impact between Basso and Tenore?

I have to say I have not tried out the Basso, but I still do rate the Carbo Tenore (DX200) quite a lot.
I use them very regularly, as my sleep IEMs. Since all other models I have tried for this purpose have always been too bulky and uncomfortable in the ears (since I sleep on my side) I have always kept them for that. I'm on my third pair since I first discovered them (around 10 years ago now, holy smokes) and even though I have other headphones and IEMs that have since outclassed them, I still have a lot of respect for them, even though they are less of a "good deal" than they used to be. I would consider them the first "good sounding" headphones/IEMs I ever got.
They are supremely comfortable and still have to be beat in that category though, for my money. If you've never tried them, the cylinder body is around the same diameter as the Etymotic ER3SE (not as lengthy though), but you don't have to put them far down your ears nearly as much, they just rest gently down the inside of your ear. For this purpose especially, if you've tried other IEMs and earbuds and they've all failed you in terms of comfort, I would recommend trying these out. You can find them in shops in Japan (Yodobashi Camera in Akiba had a little Zero Audio corner last time I was there, for example) if you feel like you have to try them out beforehand.
One thing I would love to know is if it would be possible to mod them for a detached cable. I feel like it would be possible to add one in the same way that the Etymotic are set up, with the MMCX connector at the base of the cylinder… I don't have the technical knowhow to do it but I would love to have an "everlasting" pair of them, since the two previous ones I had, it was the cable that went first (as it often does).

I like to sleep with IEMs in also. If I recall, it was easy to get the Zeros to lodge a bit too far into the ear canal. I use the FLC8 series for night sleeping.

I haven't personally had that issue but I also have fairly small ear canals, so I totally see how that could be a problem. The FLC8 look pretty great!

I do have fond memories of the Carbo Tenores. As you said, too bad the cables were fixed in nature.
