I recently got a pair of ATH-A500s and a Headsave Go-Vibe for use with a Zen Xtra. The A500s turned out to be a bit warmer than I anticipated and I hoped the Go-Vibe would perk things up a bit. I got the Go-Vibe, and it's helped tone down the bass a bit, but it also seems to have mellowed out the highs. SO, I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a different opamp that might perk things up a bit and give me a slightly brighter sound while still keeping the low end mellowed out. I'm hoping that as I break the amp in a bit more that some of my detail will come back, plus I know that I've got trouble straight out of the gate since I'm having to run out of a headphone jack. But I'm just looking for options. Otherwise I'll just set aside this amp for my Senns.

Thanks for any advice!

I am using Zen Nomad NX and SuperMacro. SuperMacro lifts the veil of Zen and my HD600 sounds nicely. The high-end is very extended and refined. But I have no experience with ATH500.

If their webpage is up to date (I assume it is) they're using an AD610 op amp... any idea how this compares to the AD620?

AD8610 is mono op while AD8620 is dual op. They have similar sound signature but AD8610 is designed for more high-end amp.
