Hey all,

For Christmas I got my brother a tiny little Zen Stone and a pair of KSC75's, 'cause I heard some good things about both when it comes to SQ. He's never had music on the go before and, well, these seem great for my limited budget.

Is it fine, or is he going to hate me for buying him this crap? :P

I've heard the zen stone SQ was sub par from one review, but I've listened to the zen stone and it has excellent SQ. Much better then the ipod nano 2nd generation, so yeah its a fine starter combo. Maybe a sansa clip 2gb would be better though I think they are either on sale now or going to be at Best Buy for like $40?

A sansa clip would be a nice choice, but i definately dont think hell be disappointed - they are both grat low budget devices, not to mention one of the most portable non-iem rigs there is

Isn't it the Zen stone plus's SQ that's subpar. The regular Zen stone, from everything I've read, has pretty good sound. Don't ask me why a screen changes everything, but that's what I'm reading so far. Personally, I'm using the sansa clip 2GB with a pair of creative ep630's and I'm really impressed with the sound and features.

The zen stone was known for good eq according to ppl who listened however Zen Stone Plus doesn't sound very good. Same goes for Zen V.
