By the way, djdigital, thanks for sharing the vid. I watched it and the karma/nitrus are even smaller than I imagined. I'd love to get my hands on them, but I should be happy with what I allready have. Notice in the vid that Eliot Van Whatever from CNET was his usual self. Somehow he's the CNET-appointed gadget guru but he does a piss-poor job at product reviews. For example he did a glowing review of the e.digital Odyssey 1000 player and completely missed (or did not report) some obvious bugs and OS limitations that put it in a whole different light. The kid who does reviews at gear.ign.com is much sharper, and not afraid to say when a product isn't good enough.

I totally agree with your assessment on the review. There was no mention of anything really...just your basic "it has this feature and that feature". I think that they must be under certain constraints or something due to them being conglomarates or subsidiaries of some of the companies whom they review. That, or they're cashing in on something sponsor wise ya know ?

I guess we'll have to wait for a more in-depth review from one of our...um...YOU ! Or me too I suppose. I'm gettin' that sucker fo sho' ! (Karma)

It wasnt a review, it was a first look or a preview type thing.

Ok, that's cool and all, but if you were him (I know that this is what "I" would want to do) wouldn't you be a bit more revealing so that the consumers could have a sort of guide line as to what the first impressions were? He did after all say towards the end in a very aloof sort of way "Oh, and it sounds good too". Gee thanks for that tid bit skippy..how about more, or is that too much to ask?

I dunno, gotta figure that this is the guys job, and it's a mighty ass cool one if you asked me. I'd be psyched to have that job and tell you guys as much as I could. Yes I realize that there are time constraints etc..but it doesn't take much to be blunt and get to the point.

Otherwise, I do like that they did "something". It was cool to get to see how small they are..and sexy too.
