But that is an amazing scene!!! I wonder how long it took to get it right?

It took 5 takes, and the only added effects are when he smashes that guy into a door and it's window shatters. The glass was added later, as it didn't break when it was supposed to, while it did in the four previous takes. On the actual Protector DVD there is a segment showing all 5 takes and shows where they screwed up. Tony actually saved one of the stuntman's lives in the third take I believe. All I can say about the Protector is it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen with some of the best fights I've ever seen. Tony Jaa is the next Bruce Lee in my eyes. He just has a presence that I don't see in many of todays popular martial artist stars.

My favorites.
Ong Bak
Enter the Dragon
Bloodsport
Iron Monkey
Once Upon a Time In China (can't remember which one I saw, but it was awesome)
Oldboy (had a few great fights in it)

I'm sure there are more, but this is all I can come up with at the moment.

Edit: I think that clip was either the 4th take or an unfinished version of the 5th take. It doesn't show the glass shattering around the 1:00 minute mark like it does in final version. Yes, I've watched this scene countless times.

Most movies with Jet Li in it. Didn't like his western movies. Any movie with Jackie Chan in it. Any movie with Bruce Lee in it

The latest martial arts flick I've watched is Flash Point starring Donnie Yen. Not bad..to me it was like watching a fast paced non stop action of a bout in UFC

Saw it today and agree about it being a condensed and sped up UFC-like fight. There were armbars, toe holds, rear naked chokes on top on fist fights and Yen's trademark high kicks. Not bad, in fact, much better than the other Hong Kong action film I saw this summer, Invisible Target with Nicolas Tse.

I'm going to have to go with 36th Chamber of Shaolin.

I think Unleashed had the best fight scene choreography I've ever seen.

Also, an obscure, 70s flick I saw in a local theatre one night called The Golden Mask is probably the funniest one I've ever seen. The martial arts delivered, but the plot was hilarious, the acting really jerky and the dialogue hilarious (including badly translated subtitles). I wish I could find that on DVD or VHS.

Ahh timely reply. Was wondering whether to check out Invisible Target or not. Now at least I know I don't need to waste my money and ain't a big fan of Nicholas Tse either. (Stole Cecilia from me

Invisible Target has many scenes of action - but not very original or too exciting. Since all three leads (Nic Tse, Shawn Yue and Jaycee) aren't really martial arts guys or stuntmen, they get thrown through many a sheets of glass instead. It does however have Wu Jing as the villain and he does more than OK.

I'm particularly fond of martial arts “revenge” flicks, where the protagonist's family gets wiped out and it becomes his/ her life long mission to seek vengeance. Kudos/ major bonus points if the protagonist learns gongfu from a book and still needs to design & develop a special weapon to defeat the antagonist!

That said, my favourite martial arts flick is “Dao” aka “The Blade” (1995). Directed by Tsui Hark.

Favourite Shaw Brothers flicks include: Five Deadly Venoms, Kid with the Golden Arms and Master Killer (The 36th Chamber of Shaolin).

Gotta love Enter the Dragon. Bruce Lee is amazing, I love it when he fights that guy with the scar that killed his sister, his punch is so fast the camera doesnt really capture the motion, you just see an instantaneuos movement and bam, its there.

I also love Black mask, I believe that was the 1st Jet Li movie in the states.

Crouching tiger hidden dragon is cool too, and I believe started that whole movement of flying and doing all sorts of crazy stuff, at least of the flicks that got exposure here in the states
