While listening to Kate Bush's Hounds of Love today, it recently occured to me to check and see if there was any sign or hope of it on SACD. Within minutes of being disappointed, I surfed over here and while browsing the forum's here, I encountered Markl's thread on musical crushes and behold, Kate Bush is the first name popping up.

So, it occured to me to do a polling here of what others here would want on newer hi-res formats (I'm personally an SACD fan), as I can guess Markl and I will both have at least one album in common.

My five (in no particular order):

Kate Bush - Hounds of Love
Autechre - Tri-Repetae++
Cocteau Twins - Treasure
Morrissey - Vauxhall and I
October Project - October Project

This is a real tough one.. Especially since I really wanted Radiohead's OK Computer on there as well.

I'll second Kate's brilliant Hounds Of Love (IMO the greatest release of its decade)

also

Peter Gabriel - So

Sarah McLachlan - Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

U2 - Achtung Baby

Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms

and its SO hard to keep this list to only FIVE!

The October Project cd would have made my list too, if it was a bit longer. I saw them in concert, opening for Sarah McLachlan some years ago, what a great show that was, outdoors on a perfect late August night, a cool breeze, a full moon and October Project and Sarah............unforgettable

Well I'm going to play the oddball here.

1) Cradle of Filth- Cruelty and the Beast (could even do multi- channel with this one)

2) Slayer- Seasons in the Abyss

3) AC/DC- Back in Black

4) Steely Dan- A Decade of Steely Dan

5) In Flames- Reroute to Remain

I'd be so happy if Dave Brubeck's Time Out came out. . . but I need an SACD player. . .

Which would of course be Kate Bush "Hounds of Love"

. That would be an amazing SACD! I have the '97 European re-master, which is a definite step up from the original CD issue, but I have seen that there's a newer one (import) that's from 2001/2002 I don't remember.

Her whole catalog is in dire need of re-mastering. I read she's back in the studio, too! Hopefully, she'll come back and put Tori Amos out of a job!

Tori's been ripping her off for years. When did Tori appear? Why, right after Kate "disappeared". Coincidence?

Kraftwerk - Computer World
Blue Oyster Cult - Agents of Fortune
Talk Talk - Colour of Spring
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here/Animals

Just off the top of my head. Honorable mention:

U2 - Achtung Baby

Actually, the Peter Gabriel is already coming out -- in both!

Just wanted to add one artist to the mix:

Van Morrison

If I could hear Astral Weeks and Moondance on SACD my life would be (nearly) complete. Someone let me know if they've been released or are planned for release.

I would seriously buy an SACD player just to hear that. I can't even imagine... *shiver*

Of course ... that'll never happen! So, I don't have to worry about getting my hopes up.
