The hd650 would win this contest if only it actually looked like this:

Which makes me curious: has anyone tried coloring the hd650 to make it look more like its publicity photos?

1. Audio-Technica ATH-ES7
2. Audio-Technica ATH-EM7
3. Grado HP/PS[Number]

Metal is in.

I personally can't go for the look of woodies when worn. I guess it's because I'm a high-schooler and can't go for that old-looking taste (though I like the plastic and metal Grado lines). I can't imagine woodies being too "in" with my crowd..

Bought as they are from the manufacturer:

#1 Grado RS-1 & MS-Pro (slight edge to the MS-Pros thoug b/c the button and housing on the RS-1 often seemes to differ a bit in color) (though the smaller design of the RS-2 might look better I still dont dig the plastic parts)

Those woody Audio Technicas are really gorgeous (I just prefer the coolness of the Grados). The HP-1000 are really nice too! Those custom painted custom-Westone's their (westone's) member of the trade has at this forum as display picture is quite nice too.

Those of you who dig the K701 design might dig theese even more: The Sennheiser HD1000 Charleston's

As for custom jobs the Headphiled SR200 snakewood look amazing. And of course the HHF-1 ebony!

Those blackened K1000 some user at this forum owns look pretty hard-rock!

I don't think it's possible to fully appreciate the R10 until you've owned one - I sure didn't. When it's on the head I still think the bulkiness makes it look ridiculous, but off the head...when you get down to closely inspecting the quality of materials used, quality of manufacture, and attention to detail, nothing and I mean nothing is in the same class as the R10. The W2002 feels like a toy by comparison - though its lacquer is really deep, rich, 3D, and beautiful - the R10 trounces it in overall feel of quality.

My other favorite lookers are still the Qualia, HP1000, and L3000. Then the W2002 after those. The HP1000 is still the best looking headphone on the head, IMO.
